As a mother of 4... bedtime can be a chore... special bedtime moments..

Well the title pretty well explains how my house works.. We dont really have the nice quite sit down read a story play a game routine; however.. we do have a bit of fun talk time. We try to keep it calm and simple. I have learned to keep it moving in order to not get the kids distracted with something else which can easily make them get hyper. It takes a while to get this all done so by the time its all over they are nice and tired. I am lucky I have tought my kids that when it is bedtime it is time to go to sleep and not play. Its too hard with 4 kids to allow them to actually play while getting ready for bed! I am thankful for this because they actually go to bed sleep very well! When one child finishes the bath the next one has their clothes ready for their bath. After their bath they hang out with daddy while I finish all the others! He goes in once they are all in their beds and gives them love and talks to them a little bit too. Works well for us it just takes a while!

We first start off with bath time. Which my kids LOVE taking a bath and or shower!

For some crazy reason my boys are always hungry at bedtime. To make life easier on us all I give them a bedtime snack. NORMALLY its a banana they share or some pop tarts.. something half way healthy and light.. HA.. of course tonight was different.. they said they were starving and insisted they eat a corndog. So I of course fixed them one.. Kids NEVER go to bed good when hungry.. we all know this! :)

After eating I help them 1 at a time brush their teeth, I brush first to make sure its done good then I let them brush alone for a few minutes. Then I take that child to their bed and go to the next.

As you see the boys share bunk beds. Brycen and I have the special kiss. I have to give him his kiss between the rails! He thinks its just  the best thing. Both boys make me tuck them in then I kiss them and we tell each other how much we love each other! We tell each other to sleep well and we will see each other in the morning. I walk out with the last good night boys I love you!

The girls are a bit different. Kairi loves her bath and then we just cuddle her for a few minutes and then lay her in her bed. She has a few drinks then she is nice and asleep.

Hali is old enough to shower herself. Her and I spend our time together after her bath by tickling each others backs.. I know thats funny but we both love that so she tickles mine and I tickle hers. I also will sometimes brush her hair for her so we can just sit and talk big girl talk. Its alot of fun and she enjoys that alone time with no interuptions
