Potty Training Tip

Hi Moms and Dads,

I have a potty training tip for you. Like most, I use/used pull ups to avoid the excessive messes when starting to potty train. I noticed even with the "cool alert", my son was not noticing that he was wet. I started to put his underwear on underneath the pull up. This worked in two ways. First of all he was wearing his underwear which he was proud of. Second of all it counteracted the absorbency of the pull up to where he was uncomfortable and I didn't have to worry about messes on the floor/couch/bed...all those wonderful places. After he got the hang of it we ditched the pull up.

That's a great idea Aimee, I might just have to try this. My two-year-old wears underwear during the day except for when we are out, or when he takes a nap. The only problem is that whenever he wears his pull ups, it seems to go straight through:( The accidents are getting less, and I sure am getting ready to give the mop a break.

Great idea. I would be washing a billion underpants a day though. I don't think my little boy is ready. He wants nothing to do with that potty. So I am giving up for a while and will try again in a month or two.
