Is it normal to stop your contractions?
I've dilated to a 1 1/2 as of Wed. I am not due till Nov. 16th
When I went to the doctor I was contracting at 5 min apart sometimes they were closer than that. the doctor said it was still too early and I had to go into the hospital for them to try and stop the contractions. Unfortunately I was their all day.
I'm hurting really bad and i've been in bed mostly I've gotten up off and on since I got out of the hospital because every time I get up I hurt in my lower abdomen. I think I may be dilating again.
Is it normal for them to stop the contractions the baby is healthy and big enough for me to have her.
I have a lady doctor just wondering if that has anything to do with it. I normally see a male doctor. Their are 4 doctors in the office where I go and there is only one female doctor in the practice.

One thing you may want to refrain from, if your doctor hadn't informed you, from starting the contractions back up is nipple stimulation (like during foreplay). Nipple stimulation you to produce the hormone Pitocin, which can induce contractions. Pitocin, in larger doses, is what is given to induce labor.
Sorry to have gotten personal, but I use to work Labor and Delivery and Post Partum and that was one thing I had warn women of.
I'll keep you in my prayers.
You say "every time I get up..." If you're having constant pain even in your most comfortable position, you doctor will want to know.
But yes, they shot to stop contractions is normal - i send my blessings to you, sincerly rainy *RDD*
