Cleansing

Streets are slick.

Rain has washed away

yesterday.

Cars fly through puddles.

Windshield wipers

erase the splatter.

She sits in her house,

praying for a leaky roof.

Bittersweet...the past has mostly been washed away, but still more is felt to be needed. The ending gives the poem its magic...who would wish for a leaky roof? Oh, the joy of forgetting...

That last line is pretty spooky Cheryl. It has a certain slow shock value when you start evaluating the statement. Nice work.
