journal-I
Island I am. On me a single tree
has sprawled the shadowy canopy.
The roots of it seeks moisture deep within
and is thwarted by stones island carry
like stones are the inseparable part
of this land from the genesis.

“Take your own time, today I have come to spend…”
She turns quickly to conceal glee and blushes.
She can hear the child of her making an act
of some elaborate play with the man, stranger
no more. Or so she likes to think. Kitchen window
reflects a cloudless sky, a pot of house plant.
Her utensils are tinkling too much, in high notes.
A spot of white embraces her slim ring finger,
craves attention like her son, always demanding
loves worthy of two human beings, insecure.
She turns to see this new friend, playing…
Or acting?

Where have you placed which poem, poet?
Wrong, wrong, wrong.
Look her tears creating a cascade.

I have broken so many dreams
to fulfill one,
now that the sleep is over
I don’t know who I am.

A clear talk with a clear mind
but a few words remain behind.
Forever.
