Fogh Rasmussen Acknowledges his Mistake on Climate Change
Translated from the Ritzau News Agency by Bent Lorentzen. Links and brackets by Lorentzen
Danish Prime Minster Anders Fogh Rasmussen has now acknowledged that for several years his administration has underestimated the evidence for Climate Change.
"I have now become convinced that a primary cause of Climate Change is human activity," explained the Prime Minster.
He states now [a strategic reversal of his policy from before Obama's election] that he should not have dismantled the Minister for the Environment [EPA] of Svend Auken, from prior to the 2001 election. [when Denmark had a Social-democratic Party government].
Among other things [following that 2001 election], the Danish government put a stop to the underwriting of many of Auken's projects aimed at protecting the environment. "We should have replaced Auken's Ministry with something other than what we did," said Anders Fogh Rasmussen to Ritzau.
Denmark is perhaps gearing up for an election in 2009. Stay tuned...
This article is coming to you from Kingdom Hospital in Copenhagen, where the author is being treated for a kidney problem. It will not result in loss of home and hearth. I'll add images, including Gugger Petter's portrain of Obama, later when I can...

There's a little 1 1/2 story brick bungalow house, in a middle-class neighborhood of economically-raped southeastern Michigan, that -- at this moment-- features a middle-aged male at the dining room table sending deep, healing thoughts to your hospital quarters in Copenhagen.
Was thinking about you all night, sir.
THAT's NOT my idea of getting STONED ... and enjoying it.
Come back soon.
Wishing you a speedy recovery, my friend.
Thanks for the posts.
Hope you are well soon, please take care!
So, Kens place in Mich. with he and Pop's? Here in Bako with a couple of crones? Or maybe it's time to set up the ultimate green house for us aging Bloomers. Talk about some potent juice. BIG kitchen table, care assistants for ancient parents, writing, graphics, brain and soul food to share with any who drop by. Gather in the flesh! Get well Bent.
Good post and exciting to see shifts along the fault lines from all sides of the puddle.
