Even though, there are many things in my life that are stressful there are good things going on. I catch myself wallowing in the negative things that I have no control over. I have to stop and think about the positives. I did that today. We should find something positive in our life each day. Even if it something small. I have been slack in this area lately. I came up with things that are positive. Here I am sharing them with you.
My leg is healing up so good that I can actually wear both of my sneakers. I couldn't do that for almost 3 months. I won't be participating in any marathon anytime soon. But it is progress.
I visited the troubled teens where I work. We have had 4 of the 7 complete our program since I went out on medical leave. I am proud to say that I know I made a difference in their lives. I am looking forward to the 3 or 4 new teens who will need my help. I will be going back about the time they come into the program. Now mind you, I have been out for sometime and up to the challenge of reforming these young teens.
My sister's illness has brought me and my 2 brothers closer than we have been in years. We have always seen each other a few times during the years, but usually only when it's a family gathering. Now, I have contact with them and their family by phone almost daily. We have gone out to eat, visiting each other at our homes, and planned our holiday schedule for this year. We have never had the schedule this early, my siste and I have always had to just come up with a date just before Thanksgiving and hoping they would be able to come.
I will be returning to work by this Saturday and I couldn't be happier. It makes me feel that I am getting my life back. Being home doing nothing has not been fun. I'm not one to sit around. I want to be able to do something. My poor family has had to do all the chores and cooking for me. They haven't complained once about it. I have to say that they have been endured my pickiness of how things are done.

If you have trouble thinking positive thoughts, try a blessings journal, just an informal journal that you make notes in every night, about something good that day. A gratitude journal will help you to focus on the good things in life. The more you think about the good things in your life, the more good things you will see.
