I realize as responsible adults we must watch what we say, especially when children and grandchildren are in the area.
I am probably one of the most impatient men living on the face of this earth or so I have been told, thousands of times. Even if I drop something accidentally I will probably yell out something like "COME ON, GIVE ME A BREAK." I guess I am at my worse when on the computer. It appears this sour, impatient attitude has spilled over to my five year old granddaughter, Madison.
This morning she walks into my office and asks if she can play Y8 on the computer.
"Play what?"
"Y8."
"I have no idea what you are talking about."
"Y8."
"I don't know what you mean."
"Just bring up Google," replies Madison.
Turning on my wife's computer, I clicked on the Google icon. It just sits there doing nothing.
"COME ON IDIOT," yells Madison.
"It was right then and there that I realized that I had made that comment thousands of times while waiting for the computer to load.
In most cases we might think this is funny but it really bothers me that my granddaughter has picked up my impatience. Though "idiot" may not be a curse word; it is a word whose use must be controlled and could be very damaging to others later on in life.

Good reminder, thanks.
If we take the time to actually listen.
Good for her, and you.
