Romance at MacArthur Park ~ for Silly Story Challenge

Well, I got to writing this little poem which is supposed to have the following words in it for the Silly Story Challenge:

  • Bus
  • Flower
  • Mask
  • Park
  • Superhero

Thing is, as I got into writing it, it immediately seemed to go in a non-silly, serious direction, which was somewhat unexpected.  Given that I have a pretty silly streak, this even surprised me, but sometimes you never know where the journey is going to end up!

Romance at MacArthurPark

Once upon a time

We boarded a magical bus

With a flower in my hair

And enough love for the two of us.

 

You never knew how deeply

I felt or would even ask

For always when I was around you

I carefully wore my mask.

 

So then off and away we went

Our unknown journey we'd embark

What a surprise it was, to me, then

Ending up at MacArthur Park.

 

Then you kneeled upon one knee

Enduring love that I should know

And right there on that spot

You became my Superhero.
