Today me and my husband, Bob, decided to go for a much needed walk in the park. The warm sunshine was calling to us, and it would have been impossible to stay cooped up in the house on a day like today. The sky was a brilliant blue, with only a few wispy clouds
.
We expected to see a bunch of ducks or geese, but this is the only one we saw. When we first saw him, he was sitting at the water's edge and it looked like his foot was broken or something. So we ventured down to have a look, but as soon as we got near he moved and we saw that he was fine. I picked up my camera to get a shot and he looked right into the camera for me....lol.
We sat for awhile on the bench swing and looked at the lake and the fountain, which is always so pretty. We also saw a huge fish leap straight up out of the water a couple of times, but I wasn't able to get it on film. He was too quick! Bob said it looked like a carp.

As we walked along, we came to the edge of the park where there are lots of trees. I don't usually venture down into the woods alone, but my husband is the adventurous type and decided we would go explore a bit. We actually found a pathway through the woods. Evidently we weren't the first to explore. I told Bob to walk ahead to scare the wild animals away...lol. It was really so I could take pictures of him...without him knowing...:)

The first thing I saw was this huge squirrel nest up in the tree.
Also down in the woods there were all kind of crevices in the ground that had been made by rainfall (in the days when we actually GOT rainfall). All of the little crevices led to a river of water.
I really thought this tree looked cool sitting on the riverbank. See the roots that are all uncovered?

I couldn't help but notice how pretty the trees looked against the sky today. The sky was just an incredible blue. It started off very light blue at the bottom and turned darker the higher up it went....giving it an almost layered effect.

Anyway, this was our time at the park. Thanks for letting me share with you!

But later, when it's snowing, I will think of your beautiful pictures and try to remember that Spring is just around the corner.
