I woke up this morning with passion on my mind. Okay, I will admit I have been home sick with the flu since Monday. Delirious or not, this is a subject we often forget as working adults. Our days involve caring for others, preparing for the future and waiting for a moment of freedom. Recalling our passions can help us through the day. Please try this exercise. Let's give ourselves at least 5 minutes of our day just for us!
I thought of 3 different categories. I will initiate the listing. I ask all comments to this article list one of your passions per category. This exercise may sound silly. However, you will find some individuals will share your feelings. Here goes my top 3 passions:
CATEGORY #1 (Food)
A. Lasagna- my passion for this food runs deep. I am as a crazed nut when I have a plate of this food in front of me. *drooling*
CATEGORY #2 (Hobby)
B. Youth sports- I am a huge fan of youth football and cheer. *Kids are friggin' AWESOME*
CATEGORY #3 (Music)
C. Jazz- If Boney James stopped blowing his sax, I would have to give up listening to this genre of music. *No, don't take my Boney away!*
People, I can't explain the feeling I have right now. Although I still have errands and chores to complete today, the remembrance of my passions will drive me. I think I will watch a past youth football game I taped on mute, start up the Boney James CDs and eat my lasagna. Good Heavens, I will enjoy my day after all!
Love you all,
Kimberly V.

Food: Shrimp, baby! I'm like Bubba in Forrest Gump, don't care how it's prepared, if it has shrimp, I'm good!
Hobby: Ceramics, it's like playing in the mud all over again!
Music: That's a hard one, as my tastes are very eclectic, but if I had to narrow it down to one genre, I'd have to go with R & B/Soul. I happened to come of age during one of the greatest years in musical history, the 70's, and the quality of songs and music across the board was unprecedented.
Shrimp, pottery and soul...catchy mantra!
FOOD It's not WHAT food I have, it's how it's prepared. I love shrimp and crab legs, but it's hard to beat a good lasagna! Italian food usually covers most of my loves.
HOBBY I'm an artist. I don't really care whether I'm helping create costumes for Halloween, creating a birthday cake that looks like Buzz Lightyear or singing to the baby about what we are doing. If I am creating something, I am happy. Acrylics are my preferred medium. I have missed them. Finances and poor planning have kept me from them for too long but we are trying to work them back into the budget.
MUSIC Music IS the passion! I love to get carried away by a moving classical piece while I'm painting. I love to feel the power of a church congregation expressing their faith through song. I love hearing my kids singing to their baby sister, whatever silly words they can think of next. I loved singing the baby bumble bee song to my neice in the hospital after she was burned badly and seeing her come out of her shell of pain to play and be three again. If you can sing it, dance to it, get lost in it, I love it!
Wow, this really was an amazing exercise. I am ready to take on the world now! Thank you, Kimberly!
1. food=Sushi, Sashimi, and WASABI, though that is a condiment.
2. hobby=squeezebox
3.=all kinds of music, mostly Celtic, and jazz.
btw, many years ago I saw Boney James in a nice club in Orlando Florida.
GREAT!

Isaac Newton. Let me back up. Nalita loveth men, rather appreciates the male species, at least SOME of them,
like Denzel,
Newton,
Peyton
Zak (girl, you have got to seeee Zak with the dreadlock thingy)
I think I should stop
Even Jeff H. lol. Most people don't know his photo is up. Nope, he ain't hiding and he is 6'5"
Another passion of mine -- TALL men!
I had better stop now. I stopped at your place on my way to a football article and it seems that I am resting too long here!
You could never overstay your welcome! Come in as many times as you like. I always try to find ways to bring that good ole past up.
In my opinion, as adults we live more to analyze and problem solve. We must---we must---dedicate a few moments of the week to entertain ourselves..Look for more exercises like this.
Love ya
