Who names makeup?

Do you ever wonder who names makeup? Some of the names are really creative. Here is what's in my lipstick collection:

Demure

Hipster

Hotpants

Asphyxia

Buzzkill

SWF

I also have many flavored sparkly glosses that are just known by their flavor such as Limeade and Pina Colada.

I am not a big makeup person. I try to use as less as possible, but I do love lipstick.

LOL.... well I have to say... I'm certain there are tons of very primped up girly girls, some gay men who are very flashy and a few total nerds that were tossed in for "brains" versus "style" that spend hours over cappuccino and lists of names upon names that they worked on! LOL

This is actually one of my dream jobs- right after painting the Golden Gate Bridge. Don't think I'll every actually do it, but it's fun to wonder.

I don't know who names them on a regular basis but it seems I remember a contest that one of the major lines had. Somehow I found myself on a mailing list by them and was asked to vote for names of new lipstick colors. They also said that I could input my own if I wanted. Maybe that is how they still get their ideas?

I think that there are people on the inside of the company that mostly do the job. It would be really cool if everytime a new color was being created that it could be named by the public.
