I'm making myself sick & have even made my "monthly bill" very late if it shows up at all. I love taking baths, but cannot because our bathroom floor is messed up & we are trying to sell the house, so we can't just fix it. I love candles & always have some lit, but I was hoping for some better & more helpful ideas. I've already tried a lot of things. What do you do to relax? Thanks!

I have a bunch of health problems & most of them cause pain, so it's hard for me to get excercise. I used to attack a punching bag, but I can't get to it, since we are trying to sell our house, plus even that was too painful the past few times.
You had a bunch of good ideas. The cheap clay idea sounds like fun!
The rest of the stress I can't get away from because it's health related AND us trying to sell our house & buy one closer to work
Music does help. As well as silly tv shows & playing w/the cats & dogs & the husband :-)
Baking is good for me, stretching out really tall while laying down and just relaxing that way for about 5 minutes is always refreshing.
I also list all the things I have to do and prioritize them. AND I give myself only a minute or so to do so, if I can't list them in a minute, they aren't all that important in the first place!~
Anything that allows me time away from life's stresses. Nature often helps. A walk in the woods or just around the block. One person here, Victoria, did a piece about all the things she saw in her yard when she took a nature walk with her kids. That was amazing to see because there was a whole world there. Reading the piece and looking at the photos is calming.
Oh, yes, I can't forget to mention YouTube for a dip into nostalgia. Whatever tv show or movie you love, you can find a clip of it there or, with luck, a song. I like to listen to Dean Martin sing True Love or watch some older movies.

good luck
oh and whatever you do DONT WATCH THE NEWS it stresses me out every time!!!
Try journaling or starting an online blog.
turn the music up and just dance ,
1. Drawing. No need to be Picasso to draw circls, lines and color them. The focus ir demands alleviates stress as you get drawn to what you're drawing, and your focus subconsciously shifts from your fatigue to the abstract.
2. Looking at old pics while chewing gum. There's nothing better than making weird noises with gum while remembering things from the past. Once more, your mind strays away and does not concentrate on what it's stressing it out. Plus, some pics may evoke some funny memories which will undoubtedly make you laugh. And no one can deny the miraculous remedy laughter is against stress.
3. Sigh and yawn a lot! Sighing is an amazing in-built breathing/respiratory mechanism that makes us cozy up on the couch against a cushion and relax. Yawning, like sighing, takes off pressure of your shoulders and spine and you're more likely to smile, even laugh, if you force yourself to yawn repeatedly. A good strecth usually follows a good yawn; both are usually predecessors of the body winding down.
4. Sing as bad as you can. The amazing thing about being alone is to be able to sing like an old record without any inhibitions. That should prompt you to laugh at yourself; goofying up is a good remedy against stress.
5. If you're into trendy ways of fighting stress, then try yoga or warm milk. Both help you chill.
Hope this helps. :-)
Samy, you sound like a pro! Thanks for all of those great suggestions!
I need to get the printer working so I can keep all of your ideas in easy reach
Thanks again!
