The Most Sensitive Election Ever

This will be my last pre-election post. For 28 years I have been watching the elections, and have worked in several campaigns, including 3 years as a County Election Commissioner. In my life time, I have never seen an election where political activist have been so emotional. Often when the election is over, people go own with their lives. However things may be different this election year.

If Obama is defeated, his supporters will become bitter and hostile. If McCain losses, the Constitution will be seeing it's final days. So far the liberals have taken away many of our liberties, such as the right of life for the unborn, and restrictions on guns. In this election cycle, we have seen Acorn corrupt the election process. Right now we have one liberty which will be in danger if Obama wins. The freedom of speech.

The other day when the Florida anchor asked Joe Biden a tough question, the Obama campaign decided to shun this station. Is this what we will see under an Obama administration? Will only the reporters, who asked soft easy questions, be allowed in his presence? Will talk show host like Bill O'Riley and Rush Limbaugh become victims of federal regulation? It is very possible.

Our Founding Fathers laid down their lives, so that we may be free. If Obama wins, all this could be taken from us. If Obama losses, his supporters will always be bitter. After Nov. 4th, America will never be the same. Not matter who wins the White House.

There are people that are going to be bitter no matter what happens. People were very bitter after Bush won in 2000 and in 2004. I'm more worried about an assassination attempt on whoever becomes the president elect, and if that were to succeed, the reaction from that.

No matter what happens, I will be glad its over, will things be the same as before this campaign? Probably not, we've seen the worst election campaigns ever, emotions are running high, and I've been called the last name I can tolerate by my troll, who seems to be hiding behind ratings now, all I can hope and pray is that it settles down after its over

I don't believe it will all be taken from us at once. Both parties have realized that its best to take nibbles or slowly bring the pot to a boil to finish the job. Too many Americans no longer care who wins as long as they get theirs.

I do agree, I've never heard such rancor over an election. Its dividing us far more than uniting us this time. Whoever wins will inherit a broken system and a hostile/divided country.

As for the continual mantra of worst administration in history, read up a bit on your US history and check out Wilson's on civil rights and FDR on economic liberties. If you open your eyes, you might tone down some of the rhetoric.

I know Wilson took us from the gold standard and gave us the Frederal Reserve, and FDR brought us into a more socialistic government.

Keith Olbermein, tonight exposed Palin to be a SHARE THE WEALTH socialist on his program.

He found a quote made 2 months ago from her speaking at a rally explaning to her worshipers about her oil revenue plan she inplimented in Alaske, whereby a protion of those oil revenues are resitributed to every citizen of Alaska.

She even used the term, "SPREAD THE WEALTH" in her discription, only, I guess, when she does it, her socialism is supposed to be a good thing.

I think we will see armed militias of disgruntled radical republicans heading for the hills of Wyoming with Osama Bin Cheney as their rebel leader. Seriously, we have let a whole nutcase group take over the Republican party where even scads of moderate Republicans like Christopher Buckley and the Eisenhowers are endorsing the Democrat and leaving the wacko party. They have stolen so much money and have their heads so high in the air now that they they will never accept paying taxes of not being able to grind regular citizen's faces in the dirt, they will complain past 10 years after Obama's second term that his birth certificate is fake and that he is a Muslim.

I agree, Terry. Obama has not disclosed crucial information which could impact his eligibility to serve as president. The press is under his spell and many Americans are, too.
He is a dangerous and frightening person in any leadership position.

Many of us are disappointed in President Bush. He did inherit a big mess from Clinton and things got worse after the 9/11 attack.

I will agree to disagree. I will be just fine, if Obama loses.
I didn't want Bush to win. But, when he did, I went on with my life. There will be those who, of course, will be sorely disappointed, and I will be one of them. But, I will continue to live everyday, with hope, because I have two small children.
This election year, truly is getting nasty though, I do agree with that.

The mess all started when Wilson led us from the gold standard and formed the Federal Reserve. Since every Democrat President has expanded the Federal Branch. It was under Bush that big government went down the tubes.

Well Terry, at least Obama answers questions and doesn't evade by changing the question to suit their answer, like McCain and Palin do. I don't see ONE issue that the Repubs have settled on, no plan, jsut rhetoric and nonsense and a tinge of fear about losing their place in the catbird seat, ripping off everyone but the rich. constitution? Bush changed it to suit and so will McCain.
