Have you tried getting the large crowds to come to a book signing and been disappointed when only six people show up and four of them are you family? Wouldn't it be fun to meet other authors who are in the same situation? Network in 'person' - actually MEET each other face to face?
We now live in a fast pace, technology savvy world where everything we do is transmitted across the 'net.' I would like to try and slow down and go backward to see if we can revive an old-fashioned feeling of friendliness.
Don't you think it might be nice to have 6, or 8, or even 12 author in one location on one day to meet and do book signings, or excerpt readings, or poetry readings? Who knows, we might even want to take the show on the road.
Do you live in or around the Los Angeles area?
Would you be interested in getting together with other authors in the same boat and putting on a group author event?
This is my idea: If we get a few (or more) authors together with their books and have book signings, readings, speaking, whatever we come up with the chances are we are bound to draw a fairly larger crowd than if we individually tried to do anything. AND I have to believe there are SOME of you in GATHER land from the Los Angeles area?
I'd love to hear some feedback......
Thanks for reading.
