Tiramisu is my favorite dessert, so I was excited to find this flavor for Coffee-mate. I love coffee and this is a delicious treat to go with a good book.
I selected The Wednesday Letters by Jason F. Wright on the recommendation of one of my local bookstores. The book begins with a brief look into the last day of Jack and Laurel Cooper's life. The Coopers are the proud owners of an Inn dubbed Domus Jefferson, which is located in the Shenandoh Valley of Virginia. Their best customer, who is also a dear family friend, discover Laurel and Jack one morning lying in each other's arms. They had died together sometime during the previous night.
Matthew, Samantha, and Malcolm Cooper are reunited for the first time in several years after the death of their parents. Family and friends gather together to celebrate Jack and Laurel's life and to morn their passing. The three siblings discover boxes of letters in the basement of their parent's Inn. The boxes contain letters that their father had written their mother every Wednesday for their entire marriage. The Cooper's three adult children learn new things about their parents by reading some of the letters. Also, they discover a dark family secret that dates back more than thirty years ago.
This book was a quick, enjoyable read for me. I thought it was a touching story about love, healing, and forgiveness. Jason F. Wright is also the author of the book Christmas Jars. I plan to check it out soon.
