Yesterday, I watched the Mom and Dad bluebirds zooming in and out feeding the little ones. They are great parents. I have no other birds in my yard right now. They even chased away the big meadowlarks. But I know they are doing their job, protecting their babies.
This morning I was able to get some more shots, and what a difference a day makes.
Check it out for yourself:

Mom and Dad did excellent building a nest for them.

See the little wings starting to develop!!

My favorite photo so far!!!!

Sleepy heads. I couldn't get them awake.

So neat, look at the strip of feathers on their spine.

wonderful shots Carol
Thanks Vivian, I am having so much fun.
Wow, amazing! I had a bird nest on my door one year. I had a wreath made of straw and the birds made a nest in it. I think it was a house finch or something. They had two babies, and I was able to watch them grow up! It was so cool...
Yes it is the best Pam. They are starting to develop wings!!!
You did a wonderful job of capturing that sequence.
Thank you Sharon. I am using my little Canon Elf camera so I can get really close.
It takes great photos.
I was really surprised. I haven't used it much.
Typo alert... the camera is a Canon ELPH. It is an awesome little camera for up close and personal shots.
Takes great photos even without elves.
LOL Sharon!
Awwwwww, what precious photos.......they are absolutely awesome!!!!!! The miracle of birth.........wonderful!
Thanks Nora. It is a delight to watch them.
Really exciting to watch their progress. We periodically have nests of robins in the tree out front and it is such a gift to be able to witness such an intimate bit of nature.
Yes it is Tonia. This is my first experience... as you can tell. I cannot get over their little wings. So cute and amazing how each day is different, something new to watch for.
What great close-up pictures! You can really see the detail in the wings etc.
Very cool.... ;-)
Cool huh John! I am so amazed at their little wings. So neat. :)
What can I add Carol? This is a unique capture.
Thank you David.
Such sweet photos!
Thank you!
Oh my theyare so precious. Wonderful pics Carol!
Yes they are Debra, thanks for visiting.
Great photos!
What a compliment coming from you Marianne. ;)
Great pictures. I am surprised that the parents let you get that close to them.
Me too Karen. They were very close watching. I have read that bluebirds are more tolerant of humans than other species. I still keep my distance and snap the pics quickly.
By now the parents must have accepted you as not posing a threat. Great photo series.
John, They have never tried to attack. They stay on the fence and watch. It's like they know I will not hurt their babies. But don't let any kind of bird, including the big meadowlarks come in the yard, they chase them out. So cool.
Carol, you are really getting wonderful photos, how neat. They are very cute.
Thank you Nana. The little Canon Elf camera helps a lot.
*typo* Elph camera, not Elf
Wow!
I can see the blue on them.
Great Photos Carol.
I know Elaine, aren't they just the cutest! Thanks for visiting.
O-h-h, my... they're SO nice! :-)

Carol: I'm so glad these little ones are bringing you so much happiness. I marvel at the "miracle" of them. Thank you so for having shared this with us.
Thanks you Barbra. I am blessed to have friends to share my joy with.
These were great shots, Carol, enjoyed your photo essay
Thanks for the visit Connie.
so how many birds are there in all?
Four!!!
Oh, little darlings they are and I'm gladly to see evidently deciding now that they do have enough to eat, lol!! =~D
Yes, what a relief. I believe they have a new Mom and Dad. But that's OK, as long as they are taken care of.
Really?? Never heard of such, that's awesome!
It looks llike the same male but the female is different. I think the other female may be in another nest. Busy busy. :)
Wow, it truly takes a village, love it~!!
