I spent too much money on plants but nothing except my grandchildren and family brings me more joy than my garden. It got overrun with Bermuda grass and I lost a few plants due to an ice storm. So I bought new plants. I have five main gardens. I work them with so much joy, but I have fibromyalgia and the pain is terrible, but if my garden needs tending, I'm moving. It's good for me. Does fibromyalgia go away? I have no time for pain.
I'll post pictures when I get it done.

Honey, why don't you check out this doctor I keep telling people about? The only reason I know about Fibromylgia is because of him. Ask Baiden and Paidra -- they know the reputation of these people and they shall tell you how good they are. But the doctor I am speaking of is world renowned, and has centers all over the country. Last year when he was on Dr. Becker's program he was talking about pain and fibromyalgia. Go check him out:
Dr. Richard Becker's website but look for Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum a Expert on Pain and Fibromylgia
On the site there is a book, let's see what is the book's name. . .
Let me check and see. I know the Pain book is "Pain Free 1- 2-3"
The Fibromylgia book is "__________and Fantastic." Let me see if I can find the name for you
I am not sure if we even have any dirt here, it is still covered with snow and ice. I have to wait till May to even start anything. One thing I hate about winter, no gardens! :(
It is for Fibromyalgia and something called "CFIDS". What is good about Dr. Teitelbaum, a M.D. is that he is a holistic doctor. By the way, he personally knows about fibromylgia, for he suffered from it during medical school, and had to drop out of medical school for a while due to it. He has a real compassion for people with this ailment, because of what he went through. Eventually he was able to get back into medical school.
The money that you spend on the book? He doesn't profit from it either. He really does not need the money. He takes all of that money and funnels it into research to help other people. He is such a nice guy -- if you could just see him.
I combined my love for gardening with pain relief and it's worked wonders ;>}
Judith shares her experience using medical marijuana to relieve her fibromyalgia symptoms and breaking her dependence on dangerous pharmaceuticals

Question: Is marijuana ever prescribed for fibromyalgia? If so, does it work, or is it just an excuse to smoke?
Answer: Yes it has been prescribed for fibromyalgia as a chronic pain.
I have already told you that Dr. Teitelbaum's treatment are drug-free
Stay away from drugs if possible, and for heaven's sake
STAY AWAY FROM NEURONTIN!!!
Neurontin is a nightmare drug that should be taken only if absolutely necessary.
I told you my sister is a Ph.D. in 7 areas of Science, a couple of them, Chemistry and Biochemistry, but all of them are Science Ph.D.'s
My doctors warned (the doctors from the University of California, San Francisco Medical Pain Center, including the Director of the Pain Center) about Neurontin before I started taking it, and I want to emphasize that they WARNED repeat WARNED me about NEURONTIN. NEURONTIN is NO JOKE.
They "there-there now'd" me about the fact that I would have short term memory loss with Neurontin.
Do you know what they mean by short-term memory loss, Carol?
I am SUPPOSED to have a high IQ, or at least I test that way.
I do not believe in IQ tests, but I am trying to drive home a point here.
I am no dummy.
The doctors told me that I would start to forget simple things.
I would start to say things and not remember what I was about to say.'
I would have problems with simple phrases and simple words.
For example I might want to use the word "dog" and not remember such a simple word as "dog". Neurontin does THAT to you.
I would have trouble putting together simple thoughts.
I would struggle to even find the words to speak, search for words to say things.
You want to know why? A side effect of Neurontin.
It screws with your brain -- the neurological center and functions.
I laughed about it. I was arrogant.
I said THAT would NEVER happen to ME. What did those stupid doctors know?
Well guess what, Carol? I became close to a retard. It DID happen, because of
Neurontin.
I hate the stuff.
When my sister learned they had prescribed Neurontin for me, she flew off the handle; she was furious. Remember now, she too went to medical school, as well as being a chemist.
I used to cry all of time as I tried to search for words, tried to get to being the way I once was. Right now I have about a year's supply (or more of that junk) stored away. I will NEVER give it to anyone -- NEVER, even though I have unopened sealed bottles in there. Why I keep it, I don't know. I'll never use it again. Maybe it's to remind me of the nightmare I went through.
The short-term memory loss the doctors referred to had to do with the fact that, once I STOPPED taking the stuff, eventually its effect on the brain -- messing up my brain would stop, for the effect on the memory/brain was "short-term" and not permanent.
In other words: "There-there, Nalita. You shall not be a retard forever. After the Neurontin is out of your system, your brain shall recover. There shall be no permanent damage. The memory loss is only short term. Forget that! Who wants to walk around talking like some retard!
But if you do start taking Neurontin, I shall findeth you. I shall go out to Oklahoma myself, and get you and take every bit of Neurontin you have from you. I shall need to protect you if you will not protect yourself!
Neurontin is a last resort medicine or it should be. When I started taking Neurontin, the Pain specialists at UCSF Pain Center had determined that the pain I was experiencing was probably the worst pain known to them for any human to experience, far worse than cancer or childbirth. It was the worst of the worst of neurological pain. Since they cannot meter pain they were not 100% certain, but this was their hypothesis. Neurontin was a medication (along with the narcotics, including morphineof last resort they were inflicting on my body. Don't you dare take that stuff!
Neurontin is also used for multiple sclerosis, seizures (neurological-related ailments). Look, talk to a doctor. I wonder if a good doctor is going to prescribe Neurontin for you anyway.
Heavens to Murgatroid! A M.D. is needed on this thread.
Thanks again to all for the wonderful information. I have a lot to learn besides how to swallow another pill.
Carol.. learn how to prevent the pain the best you can.. try learning to not be stressed, exercise, and perhaps even meditate.. as well as diet. Give your body, all the help you can. ITs far cheaper, and a lot healthier to do it so.
Look into alternative medicine if you have to-- there is an answer.
And- there have been some good ones here tonight.
Research- that is your best key. Allopaths are good-- but there arem any others areas that can help too..never forget that.
And do garden. Plant things you can eat.. plant things that bring you joy.. take your time with it.. its relaxing.. and will help you be calm. Gardening is one of the best cures there is for psychological/neurological problesm.. as well as physical ones.
