Weird Things You Ate as a Child

All right, it's time to fess up! I am pretty sure everyone ate at least ONE strange or gross thing when they were a kid! Tell us ALL the weird things you ate (one item per comment) I'll choose the weirdest one listed by Monday, and post it in a separate article as the ALL TIME WEIRD EATER!

 Have fun taking an interesting (and possibly gross) trip down memory lane!

Here's one of the weird things I ate as a child: Burnt match heads...I LOVED the taste! Still crave them sometimes, actually, but never  indulge in them anymore!

About the weirdest I got was peanut butter and pickle sandwiches. I went to school with a kid that ate glue, paste and pats of butter.

Thanks for sharing! I also ate dog food. My sister and I used to hide behind the clothes washer where it was kept and enjoy a few bites of bliss before we got caught!

Twinkies-sorry, as an adult I think they are THE most disgusting snack item on the market, next to Gummi Worms, but as a kid I loved them.

Tar-like from when the city would patch the road? It would still be fairly soft and relatively clean, we used to love to chew on it.

About the strangest thing I can think of is peanut butter, butter and syrup mixed together.

Or potato chip, cheese and mayo sandwiches.

The only "weird" things are things I still eat: cheese and applesauce, french fries inside my grilled cheese and veggie burgers, dipping fries in a combo of A1 sauce and ketchup. Yum, now I'm hungry.
I used to suck on my hair as a kid...gross, but I never ate it.

I am surprised no one said boogers. I didn't eat mine, but my friend ate hers. It grossed me out. She said it tasted like tuna.

I think the weirdest thing was rolling papers. We used to ride our bikes to the head shop to get flavored rolling papers, and we ate them. Can you imagine?

Remember Fizzies? Came in a little packet...you were supposed to mix them with water for a drink...very effervescent..and sour. I put them on my tongue instead. Didn't bother me at the time.

I could eat an entire stick of butter - raw. The most memorable is a really bitter persimmon - I'll never forget the taste. My nephew Jake eats dirt and poops mud!
