Due to increasing responsibilities caused by her studies, Amy George has stepped down from her position as the Writing Essentials' Tuesday Member Editor. Amy juggled many hats on and off Gather during her tenure as a Member Editor and managed it all with aplomb. Thank you, Amy, for all that you contributed to make our Tuesdays that much richer. Good luck with your studies!
Please help me welcome J. Corn as the new Tuesday Member Editor for the Writing Essential. She has been a prolific writing presence on Gather contributing articles on writing and publishing, book reviews, and author interviews. She also writes some wonderful observational pieces such as the recent Rites of Passage: The Inevitable Wake-up Calls of Life. Check it out! Jane, welcome to Tuesdays!! We look forward to your continuing contributions to the Writing Essential in your new role.

You cerainly are a proliic writer. Wow.
Just for the record, will you give a list of say 10 of the best articles received every week?
I'd like that. Gives us a kind of incentive.
In the past, I was never sure whether my piece had been received and accepted.
J. Corn, looking forward to your taking over Tuesday. I know you'll do a great job. Congratulations.
This is a community and I think group participation is vital - and it'd sure help me out and up the odds that I'd discover new and old favorites.
:)
Hi J Welcome! I look forward to many Tuesdays with you! :)
We may not be as accomplished, but how can we improve without critique? Despite what we read, even that of our peers in the group, our own work is valuable to us as we grow, and try to improve. Sometimes it is just posting to a site, and that is all. I have been disappointed a few times. Are my expectations to high? It is not that they are gone, I see their posts on the same days. Please be there for us, it would be a nice change, as I see your comments on many threads, and your words during many chats, I would appreciate your comments on my attempts to get better, I am glad you are here, and I would trust your criqtiques as much as any group leader there, if you can get one. We take this seriously. Everyone started somewhere, and I see the work that gets touted, how can we get even near there without guidance? I even study on my own,, still not helpful without someone responding to what I do. That is experienced, and may remember just starting out in this field.
I am glad they found you, you accepted, and hope that you interact with all of us, as much as you can. I sometimes think due to the large amount of entries, maybe two per day to comment or read would help, I can see it is a big job. But in all honesty, I would appreciate knowing what "role model", and a talent thinks of what I am trying to do, as I struggle to become a writer of "substance". God bless, and again, glad Tuesday is filled with your expertise. Ellen B
You ask if your expectations are too high? No, I don't think they are and if you want to be critiqued, simply ask and I'm sure that many here at Gather will oblige. At the same time, I don't want to shut down any budding writers who are writing, putting their words out there, starting on the journey.
I'm going to go look at your work right now :)
