Eye Spy Gather Litter
When I read an article telling us how to behave on Gather, I have to laugh. Then my laughter quiets to a chuckle. Then comes outrage and here it is. Here's my contribution to making Gather a better place.
Stop giving editors on Gather a special chat with our advertisers allowing them to make tons of comments and views and the lower echelon of Gather a chance at a gift card if we humbly take part in a chat.
Some of your editors have shall we say taken privilege with TOS and are still editors.
Do not concern yourself with comment spam when you get reports of alters who harass people to further their cause through harassment and stalking and Gather does nothing.
When a foul mouth group of members attack and troll a member who do not agree with them, you, Gather, take no action.
When people use Gather to promote alternative lifestyles, and attack others for not bowing down to their alternative lifestyles, you do nothing.
Your concern for litter is interesting when you don't care if an alter uses an alter in the form of a pulled down cowboy hat on a Time Magazine cover, and he or she curses foully and attacks other commenter by pinging them, and when that is reported you do nothing.
You clutter your site with advertisers to make Gather money, but call comments that use their group as promotion on Gather as litter.
You have lost many friends of mine to harassment due to your lack of enforcement of TOS.
Your pull down screen that interferes with ratings is obnoxious.
Ratings are obnoxious and abused.
So, if you want Gather to be better would you please address some if not all of these issues and leave comment spam to the article writers who have the option of deleting these comments if they are sooooo offensive.
I love Gather, but I have a deep sense of obligation to myself to right a wrong if I see it, as I see Gather does. Truth is a real annoyance isn't it?

So calling someone obscene names, and Racest, cussing them out, are not violations if you're a extreme left, but if anything else, it is a Violation of TOS.
So it should not surprise you about the litter somplaints either.

This is not a police state nor a site for checking adults behaviour.
the only ones lost to this site, so far, have been the casual out-to -make free huggies for their brood of deprived offspring and where to clip coupons!
Gather is a place to have uncensored free rein to your muse and not to bitch andmoan becuse some people have a highter level of sophistication. Grow up! (I bet you are too paranoid to let this comment stay!)
Substance
Gather's different from other social networks. Instead of talking about "who's hot," members here discuss the day's hottest topics. You can have smart conversations about the world around you, and keep up with friends and family, too.
I have noticed many people leaving this site. Many have been artists and writers while others have left due to harassment. It saddens me that anyone would feel unwelcome here. If Gather wants to nitpick about what they call "litter" than in all fairness they should also address issues that other members feel they are experiencing as well. No social site is going to be without it's share of problems but there needs to be a sense of fairness when any problem spots are called into the spotlight.
She posted that article and didn't come back and answer so many comments. I take that as a sign that the whole thing is just BS.
I quit going to several peoples articles and I found it amazing, one person hasn't posted an article in months, I guess because he quit coming to my articles and with his sheeple came to an unrealistic conclusion of the consensus that I am someone that I am not, makes me wonder if he himself is an alter, as I accidentally stumbled upon his comment the other day and took a peek at his profile....not a single post since he ranted about people who approved comments, the things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
With all that aside, I have more than once gone to gather in a report or when I see people being harassed.....and I have flat out pointed out their inconsistencies, and flat out told them they need to get with the program.......one set of rules for everyone, not telling me that its ok for people to harass you and call you names in posts and comments, and then take someone elses post down for the exact thing you just told me others could do.
Its one reason I'm not here as much.

If I am going to use any part of anything that I find on the web, I dang well make sure I provide a link, and if I do cut and paste its only a small part of the article and the link back, which keeps it within the laws of copyright and not violating the copyright.
If I use any kind of graphic, I make sure that I don't download it, and I link directly to the sight that has it on their server....same with music, there are services that offer playlists and if there is a copyright violation they take it down, there is no downloading.....just html code to their server.
there are days that I do come here, and I can't find a dang original thing to respond to, which means people get views for my reading what they so painstakingly cut and pasted but I don't know how to respond....
I lost friends on other sights because I didn't always respond, and I would read it, but not want to leave a comment that would bring people down.....and I got called several names....and a charge was led against me.....
I see some of the same mentality here.
We want this sight to be ours and no one elses.......
Its why I have a group of about 26 or so people that get deleted without reading, sight upon seen.
