The person who has the most views right now, hasn't posted anything for a couple of days.  I wanted to know how he could have over 2000 views, but when I checked he hasn't posted anything for a few days.  ???

He has 1800 views but today on Gather, but hasn't posted anything since April 16.  My point of investigation, is Gather is messed up.

I know a lot of people use twitter to broadcast their articles so maybe that is how he is doing it?

as I understand, views aren't just Gather people that view that content, but anyone that views it through other means, like google searches......
is all of that acclaim..(???) really worth it ?

I know that many people, such as myself, promote Gather posts outside of Gather. It's totally possible that this person has a following. On the other hand, this person could be using some kind of site that generates views to their content. Stumbleupon will often generate reasonably high page views, but usually not as high as 2000.

hmmm i don't know, carol. i gave up a long time ago trying to figure views, favorites, most popular out. i never click on that kind of thing anymore, especially when i know a popular fellow gets his stuff off the net, nothing orginal, and he is a real life "con artist" who stole, yes STOLE, over 6 thousand from my brother. he is an ex-con who got out and still preys on innocent folk...
