The potty training years

If you think you keep your husband on a short leash, wait till you start potty training your baby! You have never been on such a short leash. Your daughter will let you get 12 steps (max) before you hear:

    "Potty, Mommy, potty!"

    It doesn't matter if she just went, you almost got away, it's time to go again.

    And you might as well give up eating. She'll let you sit down. She'll let you lift your fork. When it gets close enough you can smell the aroma and actually feel the warmth on your lips-

    "Potty, Mommy, potty!"

    By the time you're through, you don't have too much appetite left.

    Lots of things are different once they're out of diapers and in panties. The cute little bottom you used to clean poopie off of is not the same! The first time you change poopie panties will be an experience you'll never forget. Your baby's poopie never looked like THAT! That's not baby poopie, that's PEOPLE POOPIE!!

    When did your baby turn into a people?

    You actually have less freedom now than when she was in diapers. If you go anywhere, You'd better always be within 5 steps of a bathroom or be prepared for Niagara Falls. Our first vacation, you could recognize our car.

    We were the only Ford Tempo pulling a porta potty!

Wow! If you have 2, you should move you a cot in there, LOL!
Yes the potty training! Carlie is in the process and for some reason she goes in her underwear but when she has a pull-up on she goes in the toilet-Go figure!! So I still buy pull-ups and to top it off when we are out in public and she goes number 2 she announces it to everyone!!

LOL - I used pull-ups forever, then realized that they were too comfortable to pee in. Lucky for me, I only have grandkid potty training now, and only one grandkid starting it (sadly, I don't see him near enough to find this at all challenging or frustrating on my end...)

Lisa- I never used pull ups, I was afraid my daughter would think of them as diapers. I just put panties on her and rewarded her with stickers.

Lol! I remember those days! They are older now but still got to go at the most seemingly inconvenient times. Five minutes earlier I'd ask do you need to go? Nope! Get on the road and then need to stop. :)

Liz- yep, my daughter sems to think it's so fun to go to a public bathroom! Even if she went before we left the house, she still has to go while we're out!

My son transitioned into potty training all on his own. We never had any problems with him. It just clicked and was something he done on his own when he was ready. It was awesome!!!

Oh, I just hated the potty years. My first son spoiled it for me: he was completely trained (no accidents) at 2 /12. I thought it would always be that easy. Not so. Each child is different, each child is ready only when they are ready and there were times that I thought my other two children would be wearing diapers in college!!!!!LOL

My darling grandaughter, Princeess Jada will sit on the potty with the pull-ups still up and pee. She's getting the right idea, LOL.

My daughter must be unique, she holds her pee in for hours, and when she finally lets it go, there is probably three cups of pee in her potty. She has the biggest bladder for a two year old I have ever seen!
