I have made a point of taking and publishing ten photos each day during the 'ten point photo marathon' offered by Gather. It has opened my eyes to the largely unphotographed world around me. I have made a habit of carrying my little camera with me and taking pics of everyday things. Some may call them pointless pictures but I've noticed one thing... it's made me more aware of many visual opportunities that I've always "walked on by" and taken for granted.
I hope that I'll be wise enough to continue my ten a day habit after the month is over. Okay--- I won't publish them all--- (cheers from the crowd) but I'm smart enough to know that if I take enough pictures I'm bound to come up with a few winners.
Keep clicking and let me know your thoughts on this daily photo habit idea.

When I lived in rural Washington, I got into the habit of always having my camera with me in the car. You just never knew when you sould come upon a heard of elk, a strange piece of art that someone built out in the boonies, or who knows.
I had stopped the habit after the move to California. You are right, it is a great way to take time to stop and smell the roses! We get so into our lives that we forget all of the beautiful things around us.
I always hate not having a camera with me, though... so much of life is so fleeting.
