As long as he is not going to be able to easily find you when he gets out, and if you think that it will help you to put this behind you, yes, write him. I would just tell him that you have found it in your heart to forgive him. I think i might add that I hope he has reached a point in life where that forgiveness will help him to change his life.

I faced my molestor for the first time on taggot. I left him a message as well as some I thought he was tring to do something with. It made me feel better if no one else. He deleted my comment and put me on ignore but it still got it out for me.

if he hasn't asked i wouldn't let him know you forgive him. Unless it is something you need to do for yourself.

my daughter is going to be faced with this when she is about your age or younger and wanting a relationship as well I am afraid
the person she has to write to would be her father, but he should be out of prison when she is 23, he's been in since she was 3.

he did this to me when i was four and served ten yrs. he was my moms bf at the time. i didn't know who he was till i was a teen and thought nothing of it.but it effected a lot of my realationships

My sister was sexually molested (it was very mild, though) by my grandfather when she was around that same age, and has since forgiven him. He has been healed and rehabilitated from what we call an 'illness' a long time ago and Jesus has changed his heart as well. She is now 27 and has a relationship with him and my grandmother, who she also had to forgive for staying with my grandfather after what happened.

It was healing for both of them when she finally stepped forward and found the words to forgive him, and to let it out in the open. I remember how relieved she was afterwards to no longer carry it around as a burden.

I think you should write the letter.

Writing this letter could be very healing for you. You would not be doing it to benefit him it is to benefit yourself. One option is to write it then burn it to symbolize that his abuse is not going to damage your life any further.

I wrote a lot of letters to people who have hurt me in my life. I never sent any of them. Just writing them out helped me through the emotional part and I was able to move on. Though I will never forget what they have done I needed the healing of writing the letters and moving on.

I'm going with Ang and Linda T. I would suggest you write the letter, pour out your heart, and then burn it. Crumple it up really good first. Let your hurt guide your hands as you crumple. You might even rip it to shreds before you burn it.

I doubt it will help him to know that you forgive him. If he is still in prison for the same type of thing. Forgiving is good. Go with whats in your heart . If you write him I wouldn't put your return address on the letter. If you write him At least you will feel better knowing that you did it. You would have done all that you could.

Back in jail for the same thing? I know someone who thought he was doing young girls a favor by molesting them... he spent 40 years doing so and left many, many victims around the country. 30 years was not not Enough for taking innocence from so many.

Write it out for yourself. Use it as therapy to help yourself let go and start all over. Don't send it, because it's not your responsibllity to forgive him. Forgiveness is between him and his God, he has to answer for his sins.

I would write the letter but I wouldn't give it to him, I would write it for you, then either burn it or rip it up. Get it out let the feelings that harmed you out of your soul, so that way you never have this fear of him or his words again..

i think writing it and burning it is a good idea. Although if he is in jail for the same thing, do you think he needs to be forgiven? For your own piece of mind , you need to pour your heart out (on paper,or otherwise ) then try to move on, remembering not all people are bad. if it continues to spoil your relationships then talking to someone would be a good idea.

If writting him will bring some closer.. then I would say yes.
I don't know to much about this man, but if he is back in jail. maybe he is a bad apple. and you should be very carefull. By this I mean if you decide to write him, do not add a return address and make sure your city post mark isnt on the envelope he recieves.

Only you in your heart of hearts can decide what may help you move forward. If you feel writing may help you, then once the writing begins, the words should flow quite easily. Just write what is in your heart.

I was molested by my mother's boyfriend at age ten. I blocked it out until I gave birth to our son and it all came flooding back. I have forgiven him. Have you seen someone to help you heal? You may have forgiven him in your heart but he still controls you if you see it when you close your eyes. Write the letter but don't send it until such time as you ha freed yourself from him when you close your eyes.

My dentist molested me when I was very young. If you were having anything done other than a cleaning and you were female, his elbow was working you over. It was only about 6 years ago that I was finally able to make and keep a dentist appointment. Prior to that, I made the appointment but would be physically ill the day of the appointment. I was so ill it would cause me to cancel. What was really bad was for several years I even tried going to a very dear family friend who I thought I trusted completely.

Maybe you should write the letter, but not mail it. It's more important that you forgive him in your heart than anything else.

I would write it but not send it to him. I believe that would help you. I never been around anyone in this problem so i dont know. But i would write it to get this off my chest. Or maybe talking to your pastor in private might help you too.
