So we have a local community known as Buena. Despite all logic, instead of being pronounced 'bweh-na', our local version is pronounced 'byoo-na', although, presumably, the name is of Spanish descent.
That's not the odd part.
The odd part is that the Buena (byoo-na) Regional High School's sports team is known as the Chiefs. When I think of the word 'Chiefs', I associate it with Indians.
So... Spanish and Indians.
What did the Spanish do to the Indians?
Yeeeeah. Just strikes me as an odd name choice.
