As I travelled west from my home yesterday, we watched the progression of storm clouds. I love the way they changed and progressed as we travelled.
This is what the sky looked like when we started out.

Gradually the clouds began to fill out and darken. This progression happened over less than 10 minutes of travelling. Unfortunately, some of these are a bit marred due to my windshield. Tough to get everything in focus while driving down the highway. They still show the clouds, so please ignore the smeary stuff on the windshield.

This one is just a few minutes down the road from the previous picture. I took it from the side window position rather than through the windsheild.

A few minutes further down the road, and the clouds looked like this outside my driver's side window.

We have a scenic outlook at the highest point in the mountains along this highway. It has always been one of my favorite places, but I have never before stopped to take pictures. This is facing south where the storm seems to have missed.

This is southwest from the same scenic outlook.

As we started travelling again, we coud see the rain coming down in sheets not far ahead.

This had to be the last shot as we were riding into the storm.

I wish I could have taken pictures of the raindrops as they fell. They were huge! Like most summer storms, it didn't last long and we drove out the other side of it within a few minutes.

I was REALLY bored ;)
Enjoyed the photos. (This is a comment link for A Stone's Throw Away. It was written solely for when you're in the mood to be entertained. The fun starts here.)
I Love rain and storms, wish we'd get more of them here.
