Well, my laptop was having difficulties. It was beeping three long beeps. I think it related to memory. Supposedly, we might be able to fix it by getting replacement ram. But I've been thinking that I might like to upgrade my laptop anyway. I've been thinking about getting a 17 inch laptop, but most of the laptop stores don't have 17 inch laptops, sure they insist it's a sold out model, and it's on order, but I'm skeptical. I ended up getting a Toshiba 13.3 inch laptop loaded with Vista.
I tried to get the wireless network working, but I haven't yet. It's all good though. I have the long cat 5 cable spread across the house. I like the newer laptop. I think I'll need to spend some more time with it. But I like the different kind of keyboard.

If you want to do it, get an external HD and image the Vista to restore later when it is more stable and has the application/hardware support you need.
My new desktop is Vista and yes it does not play nice with printers and who knows what. I crashed the e-mail, because it didn't like the OS of the printer.
Vista is definitely a learning curve - at this point I don't think I hate it but I don't love it either.
