My Dear Creatives,
Please visit February's The Shine Journal. This month we have a bit of everything: fiction and non, poetry and works of art. I also invite you to sign the guestbook at the link called "Sign The Shine"!
In April, National Poetry Month, I'll announce the poetry contest details. Next month you'll be introduced to the three terrific creatives who have graciously agreed to judge.
The work of Maureen Radoncic, our first Artist-in-Residence, can be found in the 2007 Archives. Maureen graciously and unselfishly lent her talent each month and was a welcome addition to the Shine family. The Shine Journal hopes to host more of her work here as her time permits.
I offer Maureen my personal thanks for all she has done for me and for all of us. I am proud that one of the first places to acknowledge her talent was right here. Keep on the lookout-you'll be seeing her work all over the place!
This also announces the start of my newest publication: It's called joyful! and you can put this link into your browser if the link refuses to work. http://freewebs.com/thejoyjournal/
joyful! is for those works of a spiritual / christian leaning. Please visit and consider submitting if you have an interest. The site accepts NO Nudity, NO Sex, No fowl language, etc. unless it's about a chicken or a turkey-lol! It's not limited to any particular religion-it's a site for people who enjoy this type of writing.
I created joyful! because I began to receive submissions to The Shine Journal for such work. I know there is an audience for this and I know there are creatives who have been rejected because the places to where they have submitted them have no place for them. Check it out-there is a brand new, accepting home for your creative endeavors.
I hope you are all doing well and staying warm in those places where the typical winter has really set in! And to those of you who live in the warmer climes...I'll be right over!
Best,
