Benazir Bhutto, two times prime minister of Pakistan, was assassinated today. According to current reports coming out of Pakistan, two shots were the killing wounds, while simultaneously; a bomb detonated at the rally she had just attended. While going to her vehicle to leave the current rally that Bhutto had just been at, she was shot by a gunman, while a bomb detonated at the same time.
Bhutto was Prime minister in 1988 and then again in 1993, while her father had been assassinated in the 1970's. Bhutto would be the one true leader of an Islamic nation if she won the upcoming elections slated for January. She was opposing the current military, turned political leader of Pakistan, and was warned of the pending demise if she would go out in the public.
Taliban extremist were the reported group that had been threatening her since she returned to Pakistan.
More than 20 people killed at the explosion, and Bhutto declared dead after arriving at the hospital in Pakistan. Rawalpindi, the area where Bhutto had the rally, and subsequent bombing and shooting was the area where her father had been killed years before. After the gunman had shot her, he then exploded the bomb, killing himself and currently reported 20 other bystanders.
The bomber launched his attack after Bhutto had entered and started leaving the rally. Within 50 feet of the departure, the bomb went off, and Bhutto was shot. This is the current information currently coming out of Pakistan.
Mazarif, current leader of Pakistan is once again the only logical leader for Pakistan. We are currently awaiting responses from The US President, as well from other western ally leaders. Bhutto was fifty-four years of age, and this is a very tragic event for not only Pakistan, but as well as the world that has been fighting terrorist. Currently Giulliani, candidate for US president is the only official comment that has been released as of 9:30 Thursday morning.
The reported gun was an AK47, and Bhutto was still alive when she had arrived at the hospital.
