I have been really busy so far this week with out of town guests, and I haven't been able to "gather" very much. I haven't written anything in a couple of days, and I can feel that stirring inside of me. It only confirms what I already know. I don't just want to write. I need to write. It's a release for me in many ways, and it is almost like giving birth to a part of myself, if that makes sense. It doesn't really matter to me if it is deemed "good" or "bad" by the reader. And most likely, it will be a mixture of both since I write what I am feeling. As far as "quality" goes, many times I just write and publish...without editing and rewriting. Sometimes I prefer that vulnerablity that seems to come out when I just write...without worrying about the mechanics.
Anyway, I know I'm rambling. I just felt the need to write and thought it was the perfect time to say THANK YOU to all of my Gather friends. Thank you for reading and commenting on my work. Thank you for sharing your wonderful articles, images and videos with me as well. You have truly enriched my life in more ways that I can tell you. Not a day goes by that you don't bring me to laughter, bring me to tears, or make me think about something I never thought of before.
I want to say a very special THANK YOU to my Gather Guide friends. What a wonderful group of people to work with! When I became a Guide I wasn't quite sure all that it would entail, but I knew I wanted to give something back to this wonderful site. This group of wonderful people: Susan, Faith, Dan, Luna, Gloria (Nana), and Krissy are tireless in their efforts to make Gather a place that is welcoming and helpful to everyone...and they make me very proud to be able to call myself a Guide. I am in awe of their commitment as volunteers...and they are a true inspiration....always willing to learn, to help, and to share.
So this Thanksgiving, as I count my blessings, I am going to remember all of you here on Gather. I pray that all of you have a wonderful holiday with your family and friends. Eat a lot, laugh a lot, and remember the love in your lives. It is all around you. Just open your hearts and minds and let it flow through you to those around you.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
