What are you doing this summer for fun?

I'm a tv junkie too. I have resorted to recording General Hospital, knowing it will never be a repeat.

I couldn't agree with you more. I think they should set up the tv schedule so that series don't have as much overlap. For example 24 plays all their episodes in a row no breaks in the middle, simply January to May. That is perfect. Now Heroes should do the same but say July to December and so on and so forth. Oh well I still have Sopranos and Entourage for the next week or so.

Definately a tv junkie here! And I hate the summer hiatus! I'll also be baseballing and beach bound this summer, so that'll feel in some of the gaps the network tv is leaving open! lol

Shhhh....... don't tell anyone. I, the nature girl, am a lover of television shows. I work outside all day and I just want to come home and veg out in front of the tube. I love reality shows but most of them are over.

This summer will be spent gardening and fixing up the house I bought and closed on two weeks ago. :)

Yeah, TV is pretty boring now and I find that shows I used to like I no longer want to watch, like Super Nanny and Wife Swap. The only thing I'm looking forward to is Big Brother.

Anyway, I'm trying to find a travel partner and take a long road trip. I so love road trips but this time (which I've never done before) I want to share expenses with someone. Might be tricky cause -- well, you know how it is being in a car with someone for many hours. Oh well...

I was hooked on "House" toward the end of the season, but for the most part I'm bouncing around between National Geographic, Discovery and The History Channel. I also check The Travel Channel and Turner Classic Movies. If I find a good movie I'll stay right there until it's finished. Yesterday I watched "Thunder Road" with Robert Mitchum, about a moonshine runner in the late 50's with the G men and some other criminal trying to muscle in on the shine business. Cool 50's cars and great acting.

I have a 1 yr old daughter I play with all day so once she is in bed I love a lot of tv shows that are on, but I find that my life revolves around them so I'm actually glad that summer is here. It pushes me to do other things.

This summer my husband and I bought a camper and are camping at the same campground I went to as a child. My parents are still there as well as my grandmother so now we get to spend even more time together. It's only 20 minutes from my house so we go whenever we feel like it, but the atmosphere is so completely different. It is very relaxing!

So much more out there than tv! Try something new! If you lived up North here you would appreciate the warm weather much more I'm sure. If nothing else spend more time here on Gather! Much more exciting and "mind exercising" than the tube! C):-)

It used to be that re-runs ra all summer and you could watch re-runs of the shows you missed in the summer. THEN...came the advent of the reality show. Now there's nothing to watch but those (which I hate!!). I read instead and apparently spend LOTS of time on Gather! A bright spot for my summer, though, is I'm going to ALASKA for two weeks...leaving next week. I'm veryexcited about that.

I'm gonna keep an eye out for red sheep.

Ha, red sheep. No. I'm watching Sci-Fi channel repeats of last season's 'Doctor Who,' which I'd missed. New season premieres July 6. Catching up to the first season via Netflix. Looking forward to PBS' 'Mystery' -- new season begins soon. Every city & state seems to have different times. In Brooklyn via Cablevision I can watch 'Jericho' season 2 on Channel 21 WLIW on Tuesdays starting next week, and starting Sunday, Father's Day, June 17, one of my favorites returns to Channel 13 : 'Foyle's War', now up to Series Four, with the superb Michael Kitchen as Detective Chief Inspector Foyle on the job in war-time Britain.

I'm also watching the reality show 'On the Lot' on FOX, a show for wannabe movie
directors.

'Kyle XY,' very cool family-oriented sci fi/fantasy show, returns next Monday on ABC Family Channel for its second season.

The Soprano's forever finale this Sunday, and the premiere of David Milch's new show 'John From Cincinatti,' which better be as good as his brilliant 'Deadwood,' which was supposedly cancelled so he could work on this new show.

'Army Wives,' starring Catherine Bell & Kim Delaney, premiered last Sunday on Lifetime was actually excellent. You can catch up this Sunday if you don't want to watch the Tony Awards. (I do. I have a DVR. How I manage to watch TV, read books, post on Gather & live all at the same time.)

Oh, forgot to say, 'Big Love' Season 2 starts next Monday 9 pm, HBO.

Ok, I just felt like saying, start writing a book!

I don't really watch too much TV for myself, if it's on it's mostly my son's programs on with the exception of an hour or so that I like to snag the TV at night.

Going out, playing tourist in the local tourist areas, heading to a Renaissance and Medieval faire on Sunday, and to the waterfalls on Saturday. Friday to the dells for my husband's birthday dinner, to the zoo (we go there several times a week weather permitting) to the parks like Parafrey's and Natural Bridge, to Madison etc. Just depends on the day.

There are many days (mostly weekdays) where we just do nothing at all since that's the work week and hubby has to work. These are the days I try to do most of my Gathering.

Aside from all of that. I'm freelancing to pay off my laptop loan, and making projects for freelancing articles. I'm aiming to finish my NaNo novel and researching and plotting the NaNo novel for this year.

Between all of this I run after a very active four year old. I do keep pretty busy.

I don't really watch t.v....But when I do, it's either a movie, Seinfield, Fraiser, The Simpson, or THE CHICAGO CUBS!!!!!!!!!! RONNY WOOO WOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I BLEED CUBBIE BLUE;)

I agree they should find a way to keep the shows staggered throughout the whole year. We do spend a lot of time doing outdoor things in the summer though. We ride motorcycles, go boating and camping. We have a trip planned for next weekend. I'm ready to go now!

Arlene, I loved Army Wives also. I usually spend a lot of the summer gardening and just weeding and stuff outdoors. I would love to go away also but nothing planned yet and so usually when I don't go away, I get one of my large house projects done with the money i would use to go away so we'll see.

Television for me is after six p.m., when my boyfriend gets home, and generally he falls asleep before eight! If I didn't own a T.V., I wouldn't miss it.

My summer will consist of college courses towards a teaching credential, courses towards my MA in Humanities, using my new golf clubs as much as I can, and enjoying the summer fruits grown in the area. We may go on vacation in August, but in true form, no set plans, because by that time, preseason football will be on.

Ah, football! All day Sundays, Monday nights, sometimes Thursday nights!
