Because I need some time to meditate, relax and unwind. I am living with RA, psoriatic arthirtis and fibromyalgia, I could use some time to unwind and rejuvenate. I have had a rough year.
I'd be up for it in a heartbeat, but we already have plans for August.

Who will you bring with you: ME the kids and meet up with my mom and dad(they live near Frisco!!)
When do you want to go: before school starts:) any day during the week of August 11th to the 15th would be great:)
Why you want to go (hotel stays must occur in August): it would be a great chance to have a mini vacation, enjoy a motel and see my parents. I havent seen them in almost a year! Great chance for every one to get out of the house:)

The weekend of August 15 & 16th
Why you want to go:
This mini vacation would strengthen my maritial Bond: Spending time enjoying life with my hubby will keep our relationship strong, helping us to enjoy the good times more and helping us both through the stress of the hard times. ( My grandaughter was born with Nystagnus (legaly blind) in 2005 as a result of her moms drug addiction, & I and my son take on her care)
A stay at the Weston would also help me reconnect with myself, and this mini vacation would operate as a vehicle for self-discovery and help me get back to feeling my best. As a result I would be more creative and productive and ready and willing to write that photo essay.
Once in Arlinton this particular weekend we could go to the Woltrap Farm & hear the Beach boys Live. The follwing day we would register for the Fort Ethan Allen Park Walking Tour were we would learn all about this fort that was built by the Union Army in 1861 & learn its history and finally we would then spend the remander of our time visitng the monuments on the National Mall.
Being a history buff, I would also like take the opportunity to visit one of the Civil War battle sites or take a ride to George Washington's plantation.

My husband and I have not had a real vacation for years. We never even had a honeymoon when we married nearly 30 years ago. I would like to go to Arlington with my husband. I am sure we will have a wonderful time touring the sites in the Arlington/DC area. I would love to see the historical sites that are to be seen there. I will do a review of the motel as well as take lots of photos of the sites to share with the Gather community.

After I graduate college, I would love to be a travel writer and this would be a great way to get my toes wet! This would be a fantastic surprise birthday trip for my boyfriend. One of his best friends from college lives in DC and he just loves the city. This is such a wonderful opportunity!
-I would want to take my loving husband of 12 years as of Aug. 31
-The last week in Aug. to cele. our 12 year Annv. since we do not have the money to get away really. It would be a little drive, but we would enjoy the time together, since we get little to no time just for the two of us, with having two little ones.
-Why I would like the Arlington one is, because I have been wantting to go to the Arlington National Cemetary for a long time now. I would also love to see parts of DC.
I would be looking forward to getting back to write a review and post a few photo essays of the Hotel and things in the local area.
I would love to go to Frisco, Texas and take my girlfriend anytime the end of August because I didn't get to go down during my father's colon cancer surgery last month (because of work), and I really want to get to spend some time with him and my grandmother (who has been in and out of the hospital since November with complications from her surgery. Plus I'm about to return to school to get my graduate degree in library science and I could use a rest before I start the school-and-working-full-time-with-a-45-minute-one-way-commute!
Who will you bring with you - I think everyone I know would compete to go with me, but I would have to choose my partner/roomate, we have had so much trouble of late and this could only be good for us.
When do you want to go - In order to take my partner, would have to be ANY Tuesday through Thursday day, as he works very long hours but just the other 4 days of the week, if those days not possible, than any would do and I would take my best friend who is disabled and not gone away in many years.
Why you want to go (hotel stays must occur in August) I know I need a break, it's been hard for me as I recentlly (just over 2years now) moved from the Midwest and all I had ever known to the middle of the desert, Phoenix, AZ to be with my partner. It's different, it's difficult, and it's not home. Been working too much too hard and miss my family, as a consequence probably my partner and I have been having many difficulties and really don't spend any time together. I also believe this will be very near another Gatherite that we would love to be able to meet and have dinner with.
so it would be easy for me to get there and stay there.

We have an expensive medical proceedure planned that will keep me in VA for a week on total rest and this would help cut expenses that insurance doesn't cover.
A nice hotel stay would be great for our anniversary and I love the area.

Aug 1st is our anniversary, so anytime in August would be great.
We have not gone on a vacation since we were married 3 years ago due to my health. I feel like I could enjoy a getaway now, and not feel guilty about not having my son along. It's been tough to do anything for myself since losing my son. This would be a great opportunity. VA is a beautiful place.

I would LOVE to go the middle of August to celebrate our first anniversary together.
I would love to go because I am a travel nut and I haven't been to the DC area in a long time. I have a dear friend that lives nearby that I would love to be able to visit and there are many sights to see in DC. It would be also nice to get out of Ohio for a couple days :)

Who Would you bring with you? I would take my Mom as she has been recently in the hospital and pretty sick. I would take the time to spend with her on a one on one basis in order for her to unwind and relax. I would also take the opportunity to invite fellow Texans on Gather to join us for a dinner, lunch or just some drinks to get to know one another.
When would I want to go? I could go anytime in August. Anytime!
Why would I want to go? For all of the above reasons stated along with the fact that my Niece and Nephew live in Frisco and it would not only be a family gathering but also one in which I could invite fellow Texas Gatherers to join us for dinner, lunch or some drinks in order to get to know each other better and personally.

When do you want to go? August 23rd-the only weekend he will be off work...
Why you want to go? My hardworking husband needs a break!!! We have never been anywhere without kids and the only time he's been in Texas was for work... I think he could use some relaxation time to enjoy Texas work and child free!!!

When do you want to go: Any weekdays between August 18 and August 31.
Why you want to go: After dealing with all of the things that life has thrown at me for the past several months, I could use a break. Plus, my boyfriend has been so busy moving and settling into a new position, I barely get to see him anymore; it would be great to actually get to see him for a bit.

Who will you bring with you: I would bring my husband with me. We could use some time alone. Our daughter is almost 14 & we have never had the opportunity to go away, alone, for even a weekend.

Why you want to go (hotel stays must occur in August): I would be available to go anytime in August because I've just sent the last of three kids off to college. As any of you well know, sending three kids to college (one is out-of-state) leaves you very little money (and sanity) to travel with. My husband works for the airlines and so we would be able to fly there free and it would be great to stay there free, too. I would love to indulge in some spa things and relax and leave the worries of everyday life behind. In addition to having the youngest go off to college, I have been waiting on some good news for the last five months and still no word, good or bad. I would love to think that I could celebrate with this trip, as well.
I would like to stay at the Frisco Texas Westin as I have a son and daughter-in-law and brand new grandpuppy I haven't met yet!
I would like to bring my husband because we had our 35th anniversary in June and did nothing to celebrate due to finances and a surgery I had to have over our summer break!
I am a teacher who goes back to work Aug. 12 and my husband drives a school bus, so it would be tough to get away in August, BUT I could go any weekend in Aug, that being a Fri and Sat which would get me back to FL on Sunday for work on Monday!
The REASON I would want to go is that I am a teacher and was unable to get away all summer. My son is leaving for Europe for a couple of months and it would mean I could visit with family. I didn't travel while I was off as I had to have some minor surgery to remove a cancer growth on my face but it is almost healed now so this would be a grand treat!
