The style and tang of refraction
Form elusive gifts we can share
In perceptive built illusion
Of improvisational air
That is stammering for relief
Like a question seeking belief
In quixotic gestures of need
Like a sinner on bended knee
Incessant factors of restraint
Like controlled distraught metaphor
Leave a deserted place to paint
In fictitious thoughts of squalor
This draws probation of our youth
On prodigal pad of askance
In episodic trysts for truth
That are flourishing as we dance
The pendulum swings sometimes holds
For some the rhythm won't unfold
This significance our defense
To waylaid loss of a romance
The race is run with wild eyed dreams
In each unmistakable scheme
Tucked in tentative point of view
Life is a rainbow of mixed hues

I need help too - tang of refraction? tang is a taste sense
quixotic gestures of need? a questing gesture
I think your poem leaves a lot of interesting sounds and pix in my head, but ththe who ting is obviously not clear
the whole thing is what I meant to type
pad of askance
episodic trysts
love and light over the rainbow
Had to laugh about your comment on my Haystack Rock picture. I had put together a story while I was sitting on the beach and may yet write it here about the rock.
V1: Key word is refraction because the are a million pieces of light (life, birth) added to our world each day. Style and tang is just the cultural circumstance we get born into.
V2: Every child has talent, but finding what the talents are are 'elusive gifts'.
V3: Most children are influenced by heroes and they dream or play out the themes of their illusions like a an image that is but a reflection.
V4: Of course a child improvises because the don't fully understand life and dreams.
Now that I explained stanza 1, I hope the rest falls into place, for it has a timeline of events.
and like thinking of life as a "rainbow of hues".
thanks for sharing your writing.
You can blend so many thoughts into a few key words while at the same time whipping up a big pot of dandelion stew topped with sesame seed ants.
