Thanks! LOL I love Dolly. We didn't use a lot of newspaper in the outhouse. We had catalogs. Better pictures and in color. But I didn't care much for the slick paper.

I live right out side of Sevierville, her hometown. Her theme park Dollywood and other (many other) contributions she has made there have literally changed the standard of living across the board without changing the people. So many kids are going to college because of her scholarships. I live next door to one of her cousins...she is honestly. It's a hometown joke that if you come from sevierville you're one of Dolly's cousins! LOL

Anyway, I'm proud to have known of her since she was on Cas Walker's radio show. And if you know who that is, you really know about Dolly! LOL

Brenda, not only do I know who Cas Walker is, I aim to get a "thumpin' good" t-shirt at Hammer's. As for Miss Dolly, she's a *very* distant relative - I've never met her personally - but I've met Mindy Smith (we have friends in common) so I'm 1 degree of separation from Dolly from that direction.

All that and a fiver might buy me a coffee somewhere.

I love most of the quotes. I work in a company that reorganizes constantly, so the "You can't change the wind, but you can adjust the sails" quote is so relevant to me. It's been posted on my desk for the last couple of years.

I had the chance to interview Dolly a few years ago. When I asked how she'd like to be remembered, without hesitation she said "as a songwriter."
