I hate my computer because ...

I received my MacBook back from AppleCare this week after it crashed on 9/2.

It has a whole new hard drive and all my information is lost! So aggravating.

Apparently, there is a fault in their hard drive that a specific combination of commands causes this to happen. So, this is what made me think of this fill-in-the-blank/question ...

I HATE MY COMPUTER BECAUSE _____________.

I am certain we all have our frustration with this wonderful piece of technology.

It is unreliable it seems.
Like I stated above, I can't win the lottery but I can figure out the combination that blows up my hard drive ... go figure!

my laptop is down because the plug wont work. i miss my laptop though. hard to find a charger for it.

It isn't my computer so much as an application. Larry built me a new computer. It was so much better we needed to redo the hard drive and Windows. That is fine.
I enter FAMILY recipes into a program call Master Cooks. It has lost the link to the recipe. When I try to bring up a chosen recipe it brings up the title but nothing else is attached.

My laptop has no numeric keypad and I miss that. The keyboard is smaller, too, so words come out spelled like Swahili.

Because mine has Vista. And Vista stinks!
I like my hubby's XP much better.
And, my works program crashes too much, all because I try to copy and paste!

To me, a computer is a tool (and, fortunately that of others as I make my living in computing) so I don't hate it. There are moments when, however ...

My computer annoys me when:
1) it goes into standby just as I was returning from that phone call (especially if the caller was annoying)
2) the sound is on when I want it quiet, and the sound is off when I want to play a video
3) I hit F1 instead of 1 and launch "help" rather than typing the number -- it is especially annoying on a laptop where typing numbers is a pain anyway
4) the mouse jumps of its own volition ... I swear it!

We just had to pay over $100 to fix it -- the casing was broken at the hinge and cracking, and the keyboard is missing the "L" because the dog walked across it. We are waiting for the new keyboard to arrive at the store for us.

I waited for many years to be able to write. I don't know what I would do without mine.
I pray all the time it will last forever. I have so much work on it. And no I haven't backed up everything. I hope things turn out okay for you.

I don't have a problem with my computer, even though it has Vista. Personally I don't see the problem with it and neither does my husband. My computer has a lot of memory, disk space, etc. I'm not really that good at that kind of stuff, but my husband is, and he's the one that picked the computer out. It was definitely not a cheap one! But it is working great, and has been since we bought it almost a year ago. I use it a lot, too! There are usually a bunch of programs running at any given time and a lot of tabs open in three to four Firefox windows.

I do back everything important up, though. My old computer would dump everything every few weeks for a while right before we bought this one.

I love my Gateway laptop! I have it hooked up to an independent ergonomic ( split ) keyboard because I can't type on that tiny keyboard. And, I back up my info on Carbonite.com .

To not lose infrormation buy a cheap NAS (network attached storage) box and keep your data backed up to it.

I bought an iMac, first Apple, two months ago, and I really like it.

There are some things that bother me, but it has a huge screen, nice sound, puts itself to sleep, and even when it is up and working hard hardly makes any sound at all.

I love it!

Carbonite is an off site backup system. For a year, it's only $49.00, and you can back up as much as you want. Which is helpful if you are moving info from an old computer to a new one, or if you delete stuff. Very handy to have.

I was working on a painting today and had just finished an eagle when the program said it had to save and close....it closed, but when I went back, it hadn't saved....my eagle and some other stuff was gone. And sometimes, I can't get Word to format correctly. If it indents, it won't double space, and if it double spaces okay, it won't indent. And generally when I am right in the middle of something important is when it has a message pop up that an error has occured and it needs to shut down.
I don't have a problem with the save energy mode....I can set that to be as long as I need it to be before that kicks in. But, at this stage, I really need the computer to keep working, so I'm not going to over complain. It just might get its feelings hurt and pout.

So mac do crash LOL, i hear people saying you should have a mac when someone says they are having pc problems, but it seams mac crash too

lets see i hate my computer because I want more memory and a bigger hard drive and i dont have it LOL

Another reason to use a service like Carbonite, which costs only $50 a year and backs up all your documents and photos and files, etc for you on their servers (it's encrypted) so that if your computer ever crashes you can restore all your files. my husband decided to go upgrade my computer. well when the guy did he earased all of my pictures downloaded. i was soooo mad and hurt that i cryed. i lost some realy good pictures including that easter and my youngest first birthday. my poor husband felt so bad for it that even got sick over it. but that wasn't realy the computers fault more the stupid guy that new it would happen and didn't say anything until after the fact.
