For a Norwegian all hardships are forgotten on two days a year; The 17th of May is Norway's Independence Day,and Christmas Eve. Every 17th of May people march in Norwegian national dress; Red,White,and Blue embroidered caps and dresses for the girls,and The boys wear Dark trousers and embroidered shirts and caps. Bands play concerts,these are followed by Norwegian Statesman pouring forth golden oratory about the glories of the old country,always adding a stern admonition to bring honor to the new land. Everyone shared the hardhsips and thus the burdens dwindles. Everyone shared the triumphs thus the joys multiplied. The National Anthem of Norway is Ja vi elsker dette landet- yes we love this land.

There are a few other countries whose languages are similar to Norwegian.
Norwegians are known for their hospitality no matter how little they themselves have.
They think of others before themselves,or at least most of the ones I knew did.

Today was my last physical therapy session,I still have to keep up with some of the excercises but not as much,just enough to keep my ankle from getting stiff.
The therapist said if I wanted I can go buy sandals for the summer,a pair of flat heeled ones for everyday purposes and one possibly with a slight wedge heel for dressier purposes,and I can wear low to no heel dress shoes to comfort desire.
So today has sort of been an independence day for me cause I'm free from having to go to therapy twice a week and I can wear sandals again,I can't stand wearing sneakers in the summer,it takes some of the summer fun out of summer.
