Went to McDonalds Wensday night had:  Two $1.00 Hamburger's, One $1.00 Salad, One # 7, Coffee, SM. Chco Shake, One Fish Sand. and the bill was $over $17.00's..Tonight went to a sit down Restrauant had Spagetti, Salad, Unlimited Coffee, Crumbly BC Dressing, Unlimited Italian Bread, Chicken Strips, Baked Potato, Green Beans, Root Beer, and we had to bring home some Spagetti, and the Chicken Strips and the total bill was only $21.00...Which to you consider the best deal..so much for fast food and greasy french fries.

taht is close in pricing!
I would always pick the sit down restaurant.
Since I had a gastric bypass surgery, the Dr told me to chew my food very, very well. Try that once with fast food & see if you still even like it.

At a sit down restaurant here: 2 hamburgers - $12, 1 salad - $6, 1 coffee - $2, 1 choco shake - $4, 1 fish sammie - $6...Total $30 just to eat in a better place. I'll take Mickey d's and the Dollar Menu

depends on my mood, a lot of the time I buy the food and get the drinks at home. Saves a lotta money.

Yes, store bought soda 12 packs at 3 12 packs for $9. is a good deal. comes out to .25 a can. Compared to $2 for a soda.

Yep, it costs about 35.oo dollars for us at mc donalds to a sit down depending not to much more..

All that Ben Bernanke fiat cash eventually shows up in the form of higher prices. My mom is a McDonalds junkie and it's really great for her diabetes -- not! I've heard that the new cooking oil they use actually raises your blood sugar (like Splenda also does). It's scary that McDonalds is actually subsidized by taxpayers to open restaurants overseas, which basically just spread more processed food-induced disease. But on the bright side, Papa John's has a new 100% whole wheat pizza, and I've also heard that Noodles and Company is a very conscientious restaurant. So some things are getting better -- it's just up to us to be more discerning. Thanks for posting this!

I'll take a sit down restaurant any day. The price is getting comparable especially if you don't eat off of the dollar menu.
McDonalds is getting expensive. Now, for us, it depends on how many are eating out. If it's all 5 of us, we spend $25-30. A sit down restaurant for 5 would easily be $40-50, though.

Neither is really in the budget for us. If we grab food, what I do is grab the kids each 1 item from the dollar menu, and 2 items for Nick & I each- so we spend less than $10, and either provide drinks at home, or stop at the gas station to get a large fountain drink for $.79 for the kids to share.

I know what you mean Stephanie. Even some dinners at the Olive Garden, TGI Fridays, etc. are less expensive than some fast food meal 'deals'.
