The kids and I went "park-hopping" today. We had been at the first park for about half an hour or so when another little boy came to play. He was probably around Haley's age (four) but was much tinier. Of course the three of them started playing well together. They were going down the slide and climbing all over the monkey bars. Then they moved to the rock wall and started climbing up it. I noticed that every time Haley (my daughter) got to the top the little boy would grab her hand and help her the rest of the way up. I thought that was sort of cute, but I noticed that he didn't help Parker. After getting Haley up he'd turn and run up to the top to go down the slide. Haley would help Parker up and then they'd follow the little boy.
They eventually moved over to the fire engine (see attached photo) and the little boy was showing Haley and Parker all he could do, climbing all over it and along the top. I was a bit nervous at that, because Haley and Parker were trying to follow and do the things he was doing. The little boy climbed up the side and got on the very top of the fire engine and my kids started doing the same. Neither of them could get to the very top, so the little boy was trying to give them advice and show them again how to do it. He reached for Haley's hand and started pulling her along and telling her she wouldn't fall. Parker then reached his hand up and said "help me up too". The little boy said (and I quote) "You won't fall; boys don't fall, but girls do." LOL That explains why he'd been helping Haley the entire time - the little four-year-old male chauvinist. LOL

If that's the case, this would be more of an age bias than gender, but a 4-year-old might not be aware of that as a potential reason for believing that "boys don't fall, but girls do". Anyway, that's just speculation on my part.
Just kidding. Just funny!
