Am I to assume that someone doesn't like me? Or that my stuff is crap?

I've always been one to harp about ratings, and here I go again.  This is me having a little fun with those who follow me around giving me ones. after all they are opening my stuff eh?!

I am just wondering it it's really worth it.  While I don't actually pay attention to ratings other than to do a sad face when they go down, I wonder why I've been hit so many times.  For example - my Baby Fat article, while not a peice of published work, it is a true from the heart real content.  I even took the time to add a picture.  So it can't be that someone thinks I am a point whore, because I'm not.  I just really like Gather like so many of us here, matter of fact I can't make the cash choice, I have gotten 3000 points in a month but there is always some loop hole.  Alas I'm not here for that, I am here because I enjoy it.

Back to my articles, yes I published a few silly ones about my shopping with gather and wish me luck putting up a tree, but who doesn't need luck there?!  Scroll down to a personal touching article about my baby growing up and turning 6 months, hit with a one.

 My pictures - yes the doughnut is silly.  But the spider is cool and the project I was just proud of.  They were all hit with ones and many more of my other "quality" pictures.

Videos are hit or miss, some get ones some don't.  Depends on how popular they are I think.

 Now here is my real message of this article, am I to assume that someone doesn't like me or people think the stuff I post is crap?  Is someone thinking that if they keep giving me 1's I'll go away?!  Or I'll post more content to their liking?  Not that I would know what that is since they won't leave a comment to tell me.  Or is it a product of becoming more popular?

 Well this is my message yet again, I am not going to let ones get me down or chase me out.  Ghostly Ghoul is here to stay, love me or hate me.  :-)

not personal, ghostly, i'm sure. the "db1" does not read the content nor look at the pics....i have been hit more than a clay skeet in a shoot....ha....who cares....i am not here for that, nor to give that poor db1er his/her meds.....just glad he/she is hitting THAT WAY instead of out in some mall with a gun..... :)

Trolls are trolls, I call them sourpusses. They tend to have nothing better to do than to irritate people. I think it is because they have no life and are powerless. Getting people upset makes them feel powerful I guess. Pathetic...people.

I've noticed some of the best quality material here rated low. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to why or who gets it.

The best you can do is shrug it off. If you like it what does it matter what it's rated?

we are all taking a beating when it comes to rating. I think someone just is mad at gather in general and it taking it out on members. I have been watching and they seam to be hitting anyone who gets on the most read board. They have gotten several of mine I look at it this way, I am good enough for them to take the time to come by my photos and down rate them. If you let it bother you that lets them win.

Ghostly, just gave you a 10. You deserve 10s! Is this just one person who is giving you 1s? If that is the case, I don't understand why that person doesn't leave a comment to explain why they are leaving a 1. Or they could email you to explain. At least, if they had a reason beyond mean-spiritedness, I would think they would explain. I'm glad you are not letting it get you down. As Lindy said, Keep up the good work! :-)

I only give 10's. If I don't like it enough to give it a 10 I don't rate it at all. I certainly wouldn't take it personally. There seem to be some who like to commit random nastiness.
