Don't get me wrong, I love to see the extended family, but when they just pop in with little notice, it can be a bit much. However, this summer I am prepared. I sent little hello cards to those that tend to do summer travelling and in them I put a note explaining that due to my husband's illness and my work schedule, we would need at least a week's notice if any of them were planning a trip our direction. That way, we could assure them the best of times while they are here. I am sure to many of you this seems rude, but last summer was absolute chaos. It is especially tough because anything out of routine really confuses my husband. So, what do you think, was I too forward? The kids think I was just practicing self-preservation. Feel free to offer opinions.
