Fun...Fun...

I am so excited. My son and his family have invited my husband and I to go to Santaland with them at the end of June. This may not seem like much, but sometimes when dealing with a terrible disease, it is nice to have something fun to look forward to. I have not been there in years and never with the grandchildren. They are going to love it so much. I can't wait to see their eyes. This will be nice because I will have no real responsibilities and I don't have to drive, so I can just kick back and enjoy the family.

I only hope that my husband is up for it. I am going to try and think positively about it. He tires easily, but if we need to take a little break, we can and then catch up with the others later. It is so nice to have something to look forward to. Is there something fun you are looking forward to coming up?

Have fun and enjoy the little get away. Sometimes if you just take it slow you find that you can enjoy time away still. I hope you have a great little vacation!

My grandson just turned 18 6/5 and he graduates in one week! I am so
proud of him for going through school, getting high honors; and never
gave his Mom and Dad any problems at all. He worked odd jobs, then he
landed a job in the kitchen in one of the local Restaurants. He did prep
work and then became a line cook. Now he works the kitchen with another
guy from his school, they do all the cooking. He makes a mean blackened
beefburger with all the fried onions on top! Yummers After a small break
he will then go to Cullinary Arts in Massachusetts! Yahootie I am proud!
I forgot to mention that Nicholas saved a bundle and bought nice car!

Just have your husband rest often...I think the trip will be good for the both of you. Take lots of pictures.

I am not able to go on some trips with a lot of walking because I can't walk very far. But with a doctor's prescription our insurance bought me a rolling walker with a seat on it and a storage basket that I use when I go places where I need to walk. I can walk as long as I can with the handles for support so I can keep my balance, then when I am tired I can sit down to rest. I can even sit and scoot the walker along with my feet using it somewhat as a self-propelled wheelchair. This has allowed me to go places like the zoo, museums, on walking trails, shopping in large malls, etc. It's a Godsend for me. I take the rolling walker to work with me and use it as needed at work. It's also a handy chair to use in the park, at a soccer game, on a picnic, etc.

Janet - His is more of an emotional exhaustion from trying to keep things straight and not get confused, but I am sure we will be fine !
