I looked up stars and what did I find? There's so many...and they're all different and unique. The way stars are described are just as varied and full of beauty...luminous, celestial, enrapture, twinkling...as in points of light, radiating, highly celebrated, superior performance, dazzle, bright, symbol of merit, flashy, illustrious, outstanding, excellence, shining, famous, leading roles, influencial, heavenly.
Those are some great ways to describe stars...lots of goodness shining for all to see...kind of like the members of Gather. That's right...the people here, our friends and collegues, are all stars. We fill space in our own way and produce a light for all to see. One is just as important as another; all coming together to create an endless brilliance as only we can do. All can claim to be a star...in a small universe of our own...and we belong to the Gather galaxy; one of many coming together to make up a world of wonder.
Now think about a black box...dull, drab, boring, lifeless, no personality. Who would want to go through existance being something so sad? Not I...not you! We have much more to accomplish to sit around in a dark place no one wants to be in. I guess that's why there aren't that many of them...way more stars out there to shine. How many times have others looked up in wonder at a star. You won't find many getting excited over a plain, old, black box...they're no big deal...and easily disposed of. You can kind of equate them to garbage...nothing more than trash to be thrown away.
Take the time to realize everybody loves the stars. Stars are unending...forever filling the sky. Who wants to be a black box; pathetic things they are nobody care to have hanging around. What a lonely existance a black box must have with nothing but other black boxes to be around. There are so many stars, you can't even count them all. They make us all feel good and everyone looks up to a star. When it comes right down to it, would you want to be a black box? I didn't think so; not many of us would, especially when you consider the alternative of being unwanted. Wouldn't you rather Gather with the stars?

"But I'm looking into the future, mister."
"On the roof?"
"Yeah, better view up here. I got myself a new telescope, you know. That's right, I'm looking straight into the future with it."
"There ain't any future in the stars, kid. I'm tellin'you, you can't see no future in those damn stars. Don't you know?"
"Know what?"
"That what you see is the past. Don't you get it?"
"What I see is the future. I don't know where you're coming from, mister, but you're dead wrong."
"Okay kid, play it your way. But you better get off that damn roof before you hurt yourself. Don't you know that old roof is about to come tumblin' down?"
"Hey, Jimmy's gonna fix it up! He likes to do things around the house."
"Now I know you're crazy, kid. Yeah, Jimmy's always in need of a quick fix all right. But too bad it's with a needle."
"Yeah, but I see a better future for him. Mister, you gotta believe in the future. And right in those stars I can see the future."
"You're a bit on the goofy side if you ask me. There ain't no future in those damn stars. I'm tellin' you, what you see is the past and nothing else."
"But you're wrong, mister. What I see is the beginning."
"Ah, you're a goof ball. I am sure glad you're not my grandson. At least he has some sense."
"And where is your grandson?"
"He's in juvenile hall. But it was a bum rap."
"Yeah, that's what they all say. Mister, you gotta get real. Stop fooling yourself. Your grandson's no better than anybody else around here. He played the game and got caught, that's the difference. Mister, I'm telling you, you gotta open those eyes. This isn't a picnic, that's for sure."
"What are you trying to say, kid?"
"Mister, things happen. May not always like it, but things happen. Can't go around pretending they don't. Because I'm telling you, you'll fall right on your face and kiss the face of 'good old reality.' And it's not gonna be a happy smooch either. Get with it, mister. Things happen, plain and simple. And when they do, prepare yourself for the ride. Better take the reins and travel hard. Because it isn't going to be a walk in the park, that's for sure."
"I don't know what's up with you, kid, but you're talking' out of your head. And you better get off that roof.
"When I'm ready. I must take another look into the stars. The future awaits."
"I said that there ain't no future in those damn stars."
"That's what you think, mister. The bright lights of the future are reflected from the dimmer lights of the past."
"Hey, what are you, kid - some kind of philosopher or something?"
"What I am, I will always be."
"Oh, I get it. You're one of those so-called poets."
"Call me what you will, mister, but all I am is what I have always been . . .
Ricky Fico's A Tryst of Fate
On a real note, great article and inspiring too!!!
That's quite the ~comment~ Rico!
Rico - You've got the idea...never let anyone extinguish the light shining from your star.
Shelley - See all those stars...and how beautiful they all are.
Judi - Whenever you need them; just look up and those stars will be smiling back down upon you.
Sue & Flit - The two of you and many others are my shining stars. I don't need to change my icon for one day...because all of you make me feel like a star each and every day. The energy we give to one another makes us shine all that much brighter...and people like you make me glow!
Audrey - Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...and isn't it nice we all see the same lovely sights?
Amy - Accentuate the positive...ignore the ignorant!
Scott - Those blond moments sure do seem to be creeping up a lot lately, old boy. Better darken your roots again!
Elsie - We're all important in our own way...and no one is more important than you...all of us as individuals. For those who don't agree; they don't get a star. We'll give them the moon!!!
You, sweet Rob will always be one of the brightest stars here in Gatherland.
Tinch - Turn it up and shine on...shine on!
Jacqueline - The good thing about remembering we're all stars is the realization that can take us from any point when we're feeling low in our life...and shoot us straight up to the highest pinnacles we can reach.
Ellen - There will always remain a child inside each of us. As for that army...it's already there and waiting. It's called "goodness" and when we're surrounded by it; nothing bad can ever happen.
Paula - For Scott, I have to learn all the words to that song which begins..."Hey, you...with those stars in your eyes." LOL! And thanx for regarding me so highly, too, hun!
