There is someone in D.C. watching out for people living in the U.S.
The government has RAPED the Social Security Fund AND continues to STEAL by the way they calculate benefits. This fund has turned into one GIGANTIC PONZI scheme, which means they keep sealing from the young to enrich their own pockets for wasteful spending.
When you open this SAME DOOR for calculations to current proposed healthcare benefits, you MUST then accept what’s inside. YOUR choices are relinquished – forever!!!
Force destroys freedom and prosperity, deception and coercion included. Collective action has no unique moral authority. The government can take something and have it be okay; if I take the SAME thing, I’m thrown in jail.
For those too young to remember, Social Security was set up as a Retirement Fund. It is NOT an entitlement program, regardless of current beliefs. WHEN we ignore History, we are doomed to repeat it.
"I have introduced legislation to keep politicians in Washington from ever raiding the Social Security trust fund again. HR 219 The Social Security Preservation Act would assure that all monies collected by the Social Security Trust Fund would only be used in payments to beneficiaries, or be placed in interest bearing certificates of deposit."
Government Statistics and Lies
There has been a lot of talk in Washington recently about senior citizens, mostly about how various healthcare reform models would help or hurt them. But there is another critical issue that has quietly devastated seniors financially over the last few decades. It concerns how the cost of living is calculated. How does the administration justify not giving a cost of living increase to Social Security recipients this year?
According to the official Consumer Price Index calculation, life has gotten cheaper for the first time in decades. If the government can show statistically that the cost of living has gone down, not up, then they can make the case for not giving a cost of living increase to social security recipients. But does this match reality? Using older calculations of CPI, the cost of living has actually increased – by roughly 5 percent!
The CPI (Consumer Price Index) is a calculation based on the average price of a fixed basket of goods that was initially designed to help businesses adjust for inflation. The government eventually started using it to determine cost of living adjustments for entitlement programs. Couple that with politicians’ discovery that they could raid the social security trust fund to pay for new spending programs, and you have a perfect storm to deny seniors what they were promised, while hiding the true size of the deficit. For politicians, it is a win-win.
For seniors, it is a different story. Economist John Williams of Shadow Government Statistics has estimated that if the original methodology of CPI had not changed, Social Security checks would be nearly double what they are today. This represents a lot of money that politicians have been able to literally steal from seniors, to spend on their own wasteful programs. One example of how they do this is to substitute hamburger for steak, which lowers the average price of that basket of goods. But living on hamburger, or maybe dog food, instead of steak does not represent a constant standard of living. This renders the measurement virtually meaningless, even though politically it comes in very handy.

These sleaze have been stealing the s.s. funds since 1965, LBJ, switched the funds to the general funds and used it to pay for the great society debacle. Ending Poverty.
Now the new scheme to steal our money is to end health-care as we know it.
We die they get rich. Linda, I pray that the American people are waking up and are ready to kick these louses all parties to the curb- The Adult--Hope and Change!
I believe in a better way that would stop the government in their tracks and restore freedom to We The People. I hope you'll take the time to read it and understand why we work so hard to see this new economic system adopted. It's for you and me, our children and grandchildren... so they won't have to pay for the mistakes of our corrupt leaders.
When it all comes crashing down, don't say I didn't tell you it would.
Of course it's "insecurity" NOW. And you think the government is the answer to our health care..... lemmings, lemmings, lemming going over the cliff!

Last year when I checked the SS trust was supposed to have over 2 Trillion dollars in it. What it has is 2 Trillion dollars in IOUs from the federal government. The Medicare Trust had over 3 Trillion in government IOUs. That is 5 Trillion in what is now usless paper since the government can't pay their obligations and that debt is not even figured in the deficit.
In FACT SS and Mecicare are Entitlements. You paid for it, you are Entitled to it. It is Welfare and Medicaid as well as others that are charity but called entitlement for political purposes. Lumping all those together is wrong. It's like calling all fruit in a basket of apples and oranges all apples.
I would like to go a step further and reduce congressional and senatorial salaries to minimum wage until the economy improves. Raising the legislators' pay and benefits should always be entirely up to the American voters.
Of course, if legislative pay was dependant on merit, both houses empty out quickly. Then, my friends, we would see some serious, committed individuals running for office.

It amazes me, that if you are turned down for ssi or ss.. just keep filing paperwork.. you will most likely get it...
Nora, is right... many alcohlics , druggies, people that self induced these disabilities received checks.... that was changed so , now another disease was used... In other words, most of the time, if you abuse your body for long enough, you will have another disease... This was used now, instead of getting a check for being a drug addict or alcohlic, they now got a check because they have something else wrong with them...
I have seen people that get a check for being slow.... but had an able bodied body.. what is wrong with these people doing manuel labor? I have seen people collect checks but was able to cheat the system by doing a paper route...
I saw on line that many that gets these checks are considered poor... If they are poor, then they need another fund to help these people out... find work for them instead, of hiring these illegals and let these people work for welfare and ssi checks...
Another example.... a healthy woman trying to collect a check for bi-polar... she said, the doctor asked her, when she got mad did she throw things? Well gee, most normal people can throw things.... there was other questions but this is most people.. DOes this mean that most of us have this condition? Then we all need to collect checks.
Another example... A woman who never paid income taxes because her jobs were cash... started receiving a check but she told them that her husband didnt live with her, she bought and paid for a double wide trailor, a brand new PT Cruiser all on someone elses
money...Another woman divorced her husband to collect her check and another one who only worked seasonal, about 6 weeks out of a year...
I could go on and on... this is a touchy subject to me... because most of these people could go to work and are in better health than most of us on here..
It makes no sense to me, we worked for the money and someone else is getting it....
