Gather Envelope -- Anyone have an idea?

I received a nice big white envelope in the mail today from Gather. Unfortunately, it has nothing in it. Apparently either it ripped or someone ripped the back open and the contents are gone. The front is stamped in red with 'without contents' and 'in damaged condition.'

I've emailed someone at Gather, but I'm so curious....does anyone know what might have been in the envelope? Anyone else have this happen to them? I guess I just now wait to see if I get an answer from Gather.

How sad. :( It's been a bad mail day.

No idea unless it was a gift card.
Could it have been your 1099?
Or as JRB stated, it could have been your gift card and someone, somewhere along the line ripped you off.
If it contained a gift card, and the machinery that the post office put it through jammed, it could have ripped open the envelope and the gift card would most likely then be in gift card limbo, as it's impossible for the po employees to figure it out, those machines process thousands of pieces per minute.

It was the Oreo Cakesters Minis. Mine came in the same type of package.

Awwww, if it was a really 'big' white envelope, I misunderstood. You mean like the type that would hold merchandise! Those go over a conveyor belt type machine, and if the package is a bit too thick, they will cause a blockage also, and rip open the envelope when removed from the machinery. In that case, you may have provided a 'coffee break' for an employee or mechanic there.

Sounds like someone stole your gift card Jax. I had something similar happen to a birthday card sent to me by my momma several years ago...it had to happen with the postal service somewhere along the line. She had put me a gift card and the envelope was opened and the card gone...I filed a complaint with the post office.

It was not a gift card. It was a five pack box of Oreo Cakesters Minis. The box was roughly a 4 X 6 box that was sent out in a larger whilte envelope some people were picked to do a review. Some people won them from a contest.
The only things I have heard of being mailed out lately by gather are the tax forms & the Valentine's Day cards that some have received.

I've had this happen ONCE before from Gather, last month actually! I sent them a message and they said they would resend.

This raises an interesting
point, gather envelopes have gift cards
but anyone could use those cards
it's like gather is sending money
in the mail

The last 2 cards I received came in a legal size white envelope. Hope Gather responds to you quickly and tells you what you lost.

Losing cake treats is better than losing a gift card. Maybe Gather will resend them once they get to the office on Monday and read your e-mail.

i have received lots of empty envelopes in the mail, only they tape them shut because the PO equipment eats the envelope. I hope you get this resolved.

So are they resending? If not, make sure that you contact Chuck and ask him to take them off your earnings list for this year. Don't want to pay tax on something you never got, after all.

That's pretty bad that something like that happened. I mean how much other stuff are people not receiving because of people stealing them.
