I just filled up and it's a sin. MY married children can't afford to come see me, and I have to drive all over the state to see them. In your opinion, which presidential candidate will lead us out of the gas crisis?

they could have let some of the oil go and helped but no that would take some money out of their pocket.
Bush could do it tomorrow if he really wanted too. The thing is his pockets are being lined nicely so why should he? If whoever it is, that should be on top of there list of things to do. It was because of Bush taking the cap off of gas prices and they have only gone up and up and up over the years. They just have to want to do it.
Also, we should allow drilling in ANWR.
In the future : we need to increase funding and investment in advanced battery design. We need to get the oil "monkey" off our backs. And once we're energy dependent, we can tell OPEC to kiss our ass.
Think it's bad where you are? It cost me $42.50 last week at the pumps for a half tank on the Malibu. That's 1.19 a litre. (A litre is .1 larger than your quart.)
Sounds like you Canadians need to pump those Alberta Oil Sands a little harder!
Your pump prices are ridiculous for being an oil producing nation.
That's who.
**Don't Speed On June 1st**
As you may have noticed, the price of oil, gas, and food has begun to skyrocket. This has really made life difficult for most of us. What I propose is that we make June 1st, 2008 a day in which we don't speed while driving. Yes, you may have to leave a little earlier, but the benefits are great. If we all decide not to speed on June 1st:
Our fuel usage will be lower (your gas mileage goes up when you slow down).
The demand for gas will be lower and will help drive down gas prices (the "don't buy gas on May 19th" scheme didn't work since people would either buy gas the day before or the day after, which only raised prices and didn't lower demand).
The price of food will be lower (the increased fuel prices affect truckers and raise the price of our food).
There will be fewer accidents (with more people driving slower, the roads will be safer).
You will help fight global warming (by decreasing the amount of gas we burn, we will lower the amount of carbon dioxide that goes into the atmosphere).
You will save money (by helping to lower the price of gas and food, you will save money and help others to save as well).
For all of these reasons and more, I would like to propose that we make June 1st, 2008 a day that we don't speed. Pass this along to everyone that you know and get the word out!
Thanks!!

And then do everything you can to make sure Barack Obama is elected president of the United States. Help elect a filibuster-proof senate. Contribute if you can to democratic senate candidates in so-called "toss-up" states.
George Bush and John McCain had their chance to make changes to our energy policy, but instead they have not only been obstuctions to every positive change that has been proposed, they favor tax incentives that continue our reliance on oil, coal and other fossil fuels. They continue to buckle under to special interests, which is undermining our ability to address energy and climate change issues. These issues are very complex, to be sure, and many are out of our control. But we simply CANNOT afford another four years of this, and that's exactly what we will get with John McCain.
Keep your eye on the ball, people -- don't allow yourself to be swayed by swagger and bluster of Bush/McCain/Palin.
