Migraines

Another headache today. I get a lot of them from sinus infections. Thing is some of them make me so sick. How many of you get migraines and what are some of your greatest cures for them?

 

And yes a dark room does help. I also put a cold or warm rag on my head.

I hate pain. I have had a headache since 1986. 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Sometimes it get worse than other times. When I get a really bad one, I cant walk or talk. I throw up and end up in the ER for a Demerol and Phenergan shot. That is the only thing that helps at all. I have been everything out there even had botox injections into my head, neck and shoulders. Nothing works

Go to a health food store and buy a box of breathe easy tea. Put a couple bags in a pan of good water and boil them good to make the tea as strong as you con. Use a teaspoon of honey as a sweetner if you want. drink that tea like you would any cup of hot tea. and drink several cups. You'll be OK. Sinus headaches are not migranes they are a sinus infection.

Girl I know what you are saying! I had a headache all day today! It was not nice! I think it is my lack of sleep (which I will be going to bed shortly...dang Gather & interesting articles LOL!) I used to get migraines all the time when I was little & sleep was the best thing for it (in a VERY dark room). I also noticed after I had my back surgery (for scoliosis) that I hardly get those headaches anymore. Do you think maybe you have a pinched nerve or back trouble? Acupuncture is awesome too! If no time to sleep or get to the chiro I deal with Motrin or some sort of Ibuprofen. Hope you feel better soon!

A waitress friend had migranes. She went to a doctor that did acupuncure and she was cured with one treatment.

If you have headaches from sinus infections, please try to find a way to avoid the sinus
infections. I know those headaches can be severe. I would check with your doctor, allergist, chiropractor (they can massage your sinuses to relieve the pressure, and you can learn how), and find something that works for you. Let us know how you are. Get better soon!

The changing weather is part of the cause of my headache...had it almsot 2 days now. A cool, dark room does help.

I used to have them bad. The last one had me laid up on the couch sure I had the flu! I was sick in the bathroom and everything. Come to find out it was a migraine.

I no longer take the medication that caused them and have been migraine free two months. Thank goodness!

I get migraines all the time, at least once a month (hormonal). I find a dark room and a ice pack on the back of my neck works best, and of course less computer time.

The only thing that gets rid of my migraines is the prescription drug Maxalt.

Lora I have never had a migraine so I know nothing of what you write. But I have read enough to know they are absolutely dreadful. I am sorry you are hounded by migraines.

try inhaling Menthol cristals then gently massage with your little fingers around the sinus areas[dont use other fingers as it puts too much pressure on]use gentle rolling movements around the nose and above the eyebrows, it does help

I've had a few bad headaches when I'm stressed or have drink with too much caffine,
so I don't drink cola, coffee, and only orgainc,
fairtrade and herbal teas. Cut down on cakes
and other fats.

I used to get more than I do now. Most associatied with menstration time and then after menopause estorgen therapy seemed to bring them on.

I hate headacks. I also have sinus troubles often. When I get one of those headacks I use Tylenol Sinus on top of my asthma medication. Try a cold compress on the eyes. The other thing that may work to releave the pressure is putting vasaline vapor rub under your nose. It may burn you skin a little but it works for me. Also check your bloodpressure because a lot of headacks are started with bloodpressure. Since I have problems with blood pressure as well as headacks I keep a blood pressure monitor on hand to check mine. If the bloodpressure is ok than I treat for sinus. Hope you feel better.

For a sinus infection I take an antihistamine.
