Why I hate you!

You are an evil moderated group!

When I publish to you

You yell at me and make my smile droop.

I want to play but everytime I post to your group

I get a nasty, hurtful email:

"You are not wanted here you slimy snail."

So I deleted all those hated groups.

Now, I don't have to say, "Oops!"

No one to whom I must appologize.

No more wearing a smile of disguise .

That is why I hate you so

Just kidding folks don't go aglow.

I love you Missy, Joe, and Jack,

But I won't be tempted into coming back.

NOTE: This is in fun with a tinsy bit of truth. With the new system it's harder not to get the moderated groups in there. I know there are reasons for this but it's not for me.

I tend to try to avoid moderated groups. Though I sent my automated messages to gmail and forgot about it. ooops!

Well, it's not always the moderators who get mad, you know. If a moderator lets something get in that's off topic, often the members are the ones who yell about it. I know.

I am not fond of the moderated groups either. I have just a handful that I belong to. They are specific topics that I am interested in writing for, but other than that they are a pain. Nice rant!

I would hate to think that people would intentionally keep their expertise from a group just because it was moderated.

Actually, it's also good practice for when/if one wants to publish in the real world. There are always rules and guidelines and each publication wants certain kinds of writing and topics.

Right now, I have a whole bunch of doo-doo to go through on one of my groups, well two of them, actually. One is the fibromyalgia group and the other the invisible illness group. You would not believe the stuff that has come in there recently. Oh yeah, also on the frugal group. Amazing.

I try pretty hard to keep my articles posted only to the groups where I think they'll fit in. On one hand, I'm glad for all of the "post anything you want" groups because it gives me greater exposure. However, I almost never visit those groups to find out what's been posted there by anyone else. The groups that I do visit are the ones that have a specific theme. About half of these that I've joined are moderated, and the other half aren't.

When I'm reading through one of these topic-specific unmoderated groups and come across, say an article about somebody's grandkids, it does kind of tick me off, because it's a small waste of time. Yes, only a few seconds, but if everyone's doing it, those few seconds turn into minutes, which then turn into hours that get wasted wading through items that are of no interest to me.

Thanks, I actually just was poking fun. If I post to a moderated group, I'm not a member. I have posted some literary works here and enjoyed my three comments. If I want literary I go to other sites. I love Gather for chewing and having fun. Sometimes I like to be bad. Naughty. You know: Making fun of Global Warming when we are dying in the South in a big, deep freeze.

I've only created one group and it was unmoderated. Recently I got some moderation powers in one group. Even then it's a pain in the neck to find if there are any posts there that need approval. One of the problems is that when you post something you only see the group name, not the group's criteria. I know I've only not approved one message, because it wasn't related to the group. I almost refused an article I wrote myself, but I had the group's criteria on the subject.

Well... I'm sorry... but I only have 3 groups... one only posts mandalas or articles/videos about mandalas, another is Krazy Kapshuns for funny-captioned classic art or articles about funny-captioned classic art and the other is "Make Yer Own Funny Tee" for postings of funny tee shirts made on templates of tee shirts available from the group... But I would never reject content that fit the subject matter -- even if it was a "stretch". But if someone tries to post "what i did at the mall today" on any of them, I kick it back... sowwy... but I'm trying to keep the posts pertinent to the specified subject matter. Nothing personal...

I still think the moderators where hall monitors as children and I agree with your attitude. It isn't bad enough that they delete it but they have to rub in your face besides. I never post to them. Their loss.
