PHOTO ESSAY CONTEST
This is my daughter, Shea. She has been AILing for several months. After several bouts of tonsilitis and strep throat we made an appointment to see the ear, nose, and throat specialist. He noted her AILments and suggested removing her tonsils and adenoids. After detAILing the procedure for us, we agreed that this would be the right trAIL to take, and we set the date for surgery. Three weeks seemed to sAIL by and finally it was the day.
Before surgery, she was assAILed with questions and instruments to check her vitals. We answered with detAILs of family history and dAILy activities. Then the nurse checked every detAIL of her vitals.

Her "assAILants" then returned to start her IV. Disliking needles and pain as much as anyone, Shea let out a wAIL when assAILed with the needle. And unfortunately, the attempt fAILed. So they said they would wait and do it once she was asleep so that it would not fAIL again.

She was rather upset, and her nerves very frAIL after that, so her daddy leaned over the bed rAIL to console her and try to "quAIL" her fears.
Then the nurses sAILed back in to give her a surgery cap and tell us it was nearly time to go.

And when the doctor came in a minute later and asked if he was removing her toes......
She laughed and rAILed at him, flAILed her arms and wAILed "NOOO!! MY TONSILS SILLY!"

We were again entAILed of the detAILs of surgery, asked if we had questions, then they said she was ready to go. We gave her big hugs and nAILed her with kisses, then......

.... off she sAILed with the nurses to surgery
..... while daddy watches his baby girl till she is out of sight.

Time ticked by at the pace of a snAIL as we waited for her return. So we passed the time by reading the detAILs of her care after surgery, playing games, watching TV, reading, and avAILing ourselves of the snacks avAILable in the snack machines. (Too bad they didn't have trAIL mix!)
Soon we were hAILed to meet with the doctor who informed us that the surgery had not fAILed and gave us detAILs of her dAILy care for the next week as well. A few minutes after, we were hAILed to our daughter's side as she was waking up.

After napping for a couple of hours and being constantly monitored, we were finally able to bAIL her out of her "jAIL of rAILings". The nurse was hAILed and out Shea sAILed in a wheelchair to the van, with Mom tAILing close behind.

A short nap in the van, and Daddy was soon carrying her into the house to her bed.
