red, red rose

I have been working on improving my flower photography. Thanks to some tips from Pamela O., I think I am doing a bit better. My fiance recently presented me with an opportunity to practice when he bought me a dozen roses. Never one to buy me a normal rose, this time he picked roses that were red on the inside but white on the outside. I tried to take some pictures, but I think the light was actually too bright. After looking at the pictures for a bit, though, I decided I liked the effect. What do you think?

Yes, they do, as a matter of fact. I'm such a lucky girl. I think I will teach that word to my girls. Just imagine how cute it will be to hear them say "They smell di-bine!"

They're beautiful. how about a picture also of one rose... or the grouping farther away so that you can see the stems. very nice.

here's a tip for the future on wilted roses. cut stems in a diagonal. fill a bathtub with luke warm water. place roses lying down for a few hours in the tub for the water to rehydrate the stems. if it is still wilted, put an aspirin in the water.

Hmmmmm....I wonder if I could somehow persuade Fred that I needed him to bring home roses for "subject matter"...especially since our camera is *sniff* kaputt.
